Stuff stolen from my work desk

Bibs has seen where I work. I'm employed by a multi-national, multi-billion dollar insurance company that employs over twenty thousand people. Our corporate art collection is peerless - I walk by original Warhol prints every day on my way into the office. We're regarded as one of the best companies in our field to work for, and we have our own fitness center, Starbuck's, and Subway sandwich shop on campus. Regardless, a few bad seeds have apparently made their way into our ranks. In the past few months, I've had two pairs of sunglasses stolen, one of which was my prized pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers. Then, to add insult to injury, their dimestore lookalike replacements were also stolen, both of them when I mistakenly left them on my desk for the evening when I left (usually pretty vigilant about these things).Last night, I left without my medicine bottle and today it's gone. It was Wellbutrin, an antidepressant. Who in the hell would steal such a thing? Who would want to take them recreationally?! You can't get high off the bloody things; believe me, I've tried. Security won't do anything, and it's time to take a stand. How should I go about either catching the perp or messing with their head a bit? Do your worst, TLFers!

There apparently is CCTV but security won't get involved. That thermometer is bloody brilliant, sadly with the current exchange rate it'd cost as much as a new pair of Ray-Bans!

Now THIS looks promising.

I've notified campus security and I'll be calling the police department shortly; apparently, if the stuff turns up and is found by the police, I can be detained on suspicion of distribution. Or so I've been told.

Surely the police will take a dim view of the inaction of the security team, just get them involved and embarrass the jerks. What possible excuse can they have for being disinterested in theft?

Suspicion of distribution of what?

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Suspicion of distribution of what?

Drugs! I drive a 911 with a whale tail, remember. I MUST be a drug dealer.

Anyways, the miserable pikey who stole the Wellbutrin should be feeling somewhat less miserable in the next couple weeks.

The security force here is a joke. They exist to write parking tickets and walk around looking busy. I just called them to follow up on my report and they had me listed in their system as being a female. I've worked here three years. Just checked...the squirrel and his nuts are still intact.
