Anyone else used to go here as a kid?

 

 

How the mighty have fallen. The Mary Rose, the Looping Star, Apollo 14...

 

It's half burnt down, half car park now.

Have a Peugeot dealer there. Lots of it is very poor with a lot of community housing then...all of a sudden a really posh casino, Genting. Says something about us that the nicest building in a seaside resort is for gambling!

 

They are renovating the harbour at present, at least they were 2 months ago when I was there.

Yup - used to visit Dreamland Margate quite regularly as a kid. Loads of memories of whizzing around on the old wooden rollercoaster !! Used to be able to see the Big Wheel half way across Kent...

Oh and Enterprise - that was an AWESOME ride

Used to go as a kid, teenager and an adult. 

 

It is now a Heritage site and is in the process of being redeveloped as a Historic theme park.

Hopefully Dave isn't heading up the regeneration project as he would probably give up halfway through and just build a Lidl, a bit like Herne Bay

pah...... Lancashire has Blackpool....... the absolute pinnacle of run down Victorian sea side towns which have prostituted themselves at the hands of soap dodging stags and hens ......

 

A walk along the golden mile is a sight to behold, just remember to keep enough Stella in your can to rinse the sick off your shoes before you get back in the car.

 

I drove the Esprit down the mile when the lights were on last year..... some kindly soul cobbed a half eaten toffee apple in through the window at me.

 

I wasn't hungry...... nice gesture though

We have the equivalent in Southend the kursel is being redeveloped.

Trouble is a lot of seaside town have become dumping grounds for immigrants and ddhss, clacton being one.
