annual esprit run to Aberdovey!

The time of year is upon us..usually in october we Esprit boys in the midlands do the fish n chip run to Aberdovey and try and get as many Esprit's in attendance as possible to soak up some great roads, scenery and driving. An early meet at RAF Cosford then on through Welshpool etc..we take a stop for coffee mid morning and aim to be parked up in Aberdovey middle of the day for lunch. Its genuinly a great drive and often some of us bring the other half and its a good social time to mark the end of the season..so were having to do it a little earlier this year in September but can people suggest a sunday when theyre free please. Mid month onwards and note there name down and well set a date for it.

Sorry Trevor this will be an all day affair. With some great smooth

sweeping welsh roads to get the Esprit feel. a couple of stops going.

Fish and chips Lunch , beach walk plus photo shoot in Aberdovey .

Then trip back with coffee stop on way .  Round trip from main gathering

point at RAF Cosford J2 M54  is circa 200 miles..

Date set then guys.. sunday 20th October. The general idea of the run has been detailed earlier in the thread..actual meeting times can be finalised closer to the day although generally we say around 8/8.30...

it has been mentioned that the lotus drivers club is doing their wales run on possibly the same day. In which case we shall liase and arrange meet ups along the route where we stop for breaks and at the destination. It may be that we take a different route to get there which will enable our group to keep together without the party being too large to keep momentum up..

Managed to get Harriet cared for so Lorraine can come along too. Downside is a slightly milder driving experience.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay around Cosford?

 

Been searching the ususal sites but not much coming up.

 

Would like to join in but it would be an approx 11 hour round trip for me so would want to stay over somewhere to make the most of it.

= 4h 46 x 2 = say 10 hrs allowing for traffic then add stops = say 11 hrs approx.

 

So rather than compressing it into one day its easier to stay over and split it up.

 

Would like to give my recently re-invigorated HC a decent run before the winter.

overnight .  I will be happy to pick and carry you to and

from the lodgings.
