Hello

In April 2013 I bought a 1977 S1 Esprit racing car, that I adore more than any other car I have owned!

I had a great 2013 with it both on the track and at the weekends and I'm keen to get involved in more Lotus/classic events and organised road trips (Le man/Silverstone/Spa Classic?).

I'm based in North London.

A bit about the car...

This S1 Esprit has been a race car for many years, originally campaigned by Andy Reeves in HSCC Roadsports with several podiums and wins. Bought by John Dickson in 2009 it was recommissioned and raced in 2011 with Heritage, SRGT (Class Win), HSCC, Spa Summer Classic and Spa Barry Sidery Smith Race at 6 hours (class win with 3.09).

Welcome to TLF Paul. :welcome:

I don't think I know of any other member who has joined TLF with a Lotus race car.

Any questions or issues with using the forums, feel free to ask one of us mods. We're here to help. :)

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

For forum issues, please contact one of the Moderators. (I'm not one of the elves anymore, but I'll leave the link here)

Thanks for your posts :-)

I must confess that all the hard work to race prep this car was done by the previous owners... its my job to keep it going and try and improve on their efforts!

I'll very much appreciate your comments and advice as I journey into the 2014 race calendar!

I haven't had any previous experience with Esprit's and am mechanically inept so will accept any offers from you to come and have a look at the broken bits :-)

Welcome to the forum! If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask a mod!

If you are looking to get involved can I suggest the Lotus event at Merc/Brooklands? You can find the details in the Events section!
