Newlands Corner Monthly Meet - Sunday 16th March

Time for another Sunday breakfast gathering for some of the finest bacon rolls around.  In collaboration with the "little cars" this is our regular third Sunday of the month event, a chance to gather with like-minded enthusiasts and a cross section of Lotus models.

An informal gathering with no particular runs in or out organised, just a chance to chat, look at cars and take in the view.  Join from 9.00 when the café opens for bacon rolls.  We'll probably be around until 10.00/10.30.

Mine is finally back on the road after it's engine rebuild and I've been promising Malcolm F that I'd get myself out of bed to one of these. Many others going? Also, any idea why searching for "Newland" turns up the event in March 2013? (Dumb user?)

I'm human, just not like the rest! Why? ChromeLotusEsprit.com

Jamie, we usually get a half dozen or more from here who turn up without signing up - Bibs has whipped them mercilessly about how important it is to sign up so that other people see that there are people going but it still happens this way.

In contrast the folks on S3LOC are a disciplined bunch and mostly sign up on the event thread over there.  Usually there's a last minute flurry towards the end of the week as the weather forecast becomes clearer.  Sunday looks like it will be a clear and sunny 15 degrees so I think we should get the usual 20-30 cars.

Tom, will be good to see you after hearing about your search - we're after gossip on Mr Carter you know!

First 'Newlands' weekend for a while that I have not been doing my voluntary job.

I shall be there.

Jamie, I'm sure we can wake Malcolm up.

I have CDO, it's like OCD but all the letters are in alphabetical order, AS THEY SHOULD BE !

Be brave Tom, he can't give you extra homework now

I'll have to think of something. His brother also taught me at the same school and I'm rather getting the 2 of them mixed up. Plenty of gossip from school, but nothing much involving the RE teachers at a Catholic school for some reason...

Great to see everyone this morning, a beautiful sunny day and a mixture of regulars, folks we've not seen for a while and several first timers.

Jamie's chrome Esprit got a lot of attention.  I like it but it's definitely a "Marmite" car.  The chrome wrap is very striking but I'm sure many won't like the purple & silver interior.  I didn't manage to get a picture of the purple engine bay - hopefully someone else did?

Had a run out in the Alpine in the hope of seeing some Exige V6's and had a treat as there were three. Lovely morning for it and lots of cars too.

Trevor.

I'll get around to it at some point.
