How many EVORA owners are hanging onto their car and not going to an EMIRA
TomE replied to au-yt's topic in Evora Chat
I'm in that situation. I have a GT430 (2+0) which I count as my sports car and is pretty handy on a track day and is also capable of being used for long journeys ie has some GT characteristics. I also have an Evora S (2+2) which I count as my GT car and is good fun on a track day and has some sports car traits. But it has also carried my kids while they've grown up over 13 years, which neither the GT430 or Emira can do. I've driven several Emiras and it's a great drivers car and fulfils the brief Lotus set for it - a daily drivable 2-seater comfortable sportscar to tempt people out of P- and M-cars. But it doesn't fit my use case, hence I cancelled my order. -
I've started looking for an S1 Esprit and was surprised the one linked below doesn't seem to have been discussed on here yet. With so few advertised and changing hands publicly, it's difficult to gauge what market prices are, let alone factor in condition, mileage, provenance, originality. This one looks at the top end price-wise, but had a major mechanical, body/paint and interior restoration in 2017. Are any previous owners on her, anyone know the car or been to look at it? Seems to have been advertised for at least 3-4 months. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/16135116 In a different vein, this one is mid renovation and hence there are options to buy now and finish or await completion. Anyone know about this car? https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1702712 If you know of any others available let me know. I'll post in Wanted too.

Q: What’s even rarer than a GT430? A: A one-off GT430 key ring… Commissioned in silver by my wife Alison, to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary today 🤍

Welcome @Veloce_Rosso As Justin says, every third Sunday for breakfast meeting at Newlands Corner. https://forums.thelotusforums.com/forum/334-uk-slegs-southern-lotus-england-group/ There are usually several of the older cars attending, with owners happy to chat and show you around.

Purchasing a Lotus - Where do I start?
TomE replied to Quatermass63's topic in Lotus / Motoring / Cars Chat
I can’t make the Newlands Corner meet this Sunday as I’m away on business. But there will be plenty of other people and cars around. it’s every third Sunday of the month, and I’ll be at the January one. I’ll be bringing my 2011 Evora S - I also have a later Evora and and early Exige and used to have an Elise. Happy to chat in Jan or meet somewhere local in Surrey between Christmas and New Year. -

Congratulations! They are very special cars and noticeable different from the other Evora variants in the ways you describe. I've had mine since March and have enjoyed so many adventures with it already that I used up my annual insured mileage in 6 months and had to extend it! Looking forward to getting it out on track next year.

New Emira Handbook published today - now includes i4 variant and ADAS functions
TomE replied to JimH's topic in Emira Chat
ADAS is Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. A collection of sub-systems including things like blind spot assistance, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and correction, pedestrian avoidance, traffic sign recognition and adaptive cruise control. When Lotus launched the Emira they included ADAS in the published spec but then nothing was fitted to the V6 First Edition and they said it was TBD which variants would have it. -

Some GT430 fun from a recent trip to the Island of Man. The Sloc is a famous hill climb in the south west of the island. I need to sort a better microphone!

One of the EmiraForum members had excellent service from Lotus Dijon when their car developed the limp mode fault while on a European road trip. They had all the latest factory software updates, diagnostic tools and service bulletins and were able to update the car and fix the issue for him. https://dbauto.fr/marque/lotus/

Driver was the Lotus sales person, passenger was a prospective customer. Eletre was driving in convoy. Glad no one was hurt, could have been a lot worse. Cold Cup2s on a wet road not the best setup for trying to show how to drift the car. It does show you can access the engine bay by removing individual panels rather than the whole rear clam like on the Evora
