To be honest that's not as big an improvement over the standard carb'd four as I was expecting. However the car obviously is a work in progress and I think the Alfa V6 in its normal home benefits from a full car length to get the exhaust note juuust right (The Esprit is always going to struggle with 3 feet of bent bananas).

 

If any engine was going in the Esprit the Alfa engine or something like it was a model of what Lotus should have been looking at doing eventually. I'm sure Tony Rudd's autobiography mentioned the original Esprit's brakes were going to be unservo'ed Alfa items, so the parts bin was open...

Looks great but I would not want to ride in it, bouncing along on the bumpstops with that negative camber on the rear wheels making it fidgety on ridges in the road. I think I would raise it up more when it was moving.
