September(ish) Breakfast Meet 30th August, Kelso

Recommended Posts

A bit of a departure from our regular 1st Sunday of the month breakfast meet. The LEGS diary is showing Bo'ness Hill Climb as the venue for September, however, it coincides with the Scottish Airshow and iI know a few folks are heading to that. On a purely selfish note, I am not sure I can make the 6th September and I know that Al. is back offshore, hence the reason for the change.

Anyway, the venue for our next breakfast gathering is in Kelso on 30th August and we will be joining Lotus Ecosse who through David Darling (delands) has arranged a visit to A. Hume Country Clothing Shop in The Square, Kelso. A Hume were a sponsor of this year's Jim Clark event in May (remember the flat caps) and are opening their shop from 9:30am - 11:00am exclusively for us. Parking will be arranged outside the shop and when numbers attending are known the venue for breakfast will be arranged in Kelso.

There are a couple of other events in or near Kelso that day including a Honda Goldwing gathering and a Massed Pipe Band Day at Floors Castle. It could be an interesting day, so if you fancy investing in a flat cap or updating your country wear wardrobe, or just having a blast around the borders, add your name to the list please so we know how many people to cater for.

Known attendees so far.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

That's a shame Mark but Route Napoleon will more than compensate, especially in an Esprit. Have you taken it with you or will you be doing it in a hire car?

In my dreams Brian. The joys of a diesel Renault Captur this time. Couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding. Useless. Although it was a Mercedes 220 in the spring, which was a bit more interesting. For some reason Jane isn't too keen on bringing the Esprit down here. Time to find a new wife methinks....

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, :realmad: , my PC has decided this time not to allow me to copy and paste the list as I have done in the past.

To save me having to retype the entire list just to add my name, would some kind person with a slightly more cooperative collection of electronic components please do so on my behalf.

David Boyd + Jennifer (possible)

Thanks

David

19. John and Wendy, weather means nothing as she now has a heater and cars are built to run in the rain.

Sorry for the potentially dumb question but is Hermiston Gait the shopping complex with halfords/B&Q etc near to MMC's place?

If so, I'll be there for 0845
