If you are one of the dwindling number of visitors to the Esprit forum of Pistonheads you will see that a thread informing owners of the Lotus parts sale was locked for the crime of....advertising!

Hmm looking at the replies some people were not happy.

On Lotus being 'messed up' - I've had a lot of correspondance with them and they are by far the best company I have delt with e-mail wise and also clarity of answer, you never had to ask the same question twice or have it re-explained. Their dealers (Merrits, Strattons, Lipscomb etc) are also superbly customer focused.

I know of few if any manufacturers who treat us, the 2nd hand owner groups, as well as Lotus do - what other car club has so much litterally factory backing such as LEW / LEF ?

I know the guy who's posted on PH, he was hoping to justify the upgrade rather than just a rebuild so he'll definately be happy!

Is true mate, they are so out of the loop they might as well be on the moon.

Not quite as bad as Yahoo though (4 posts total last month). Those guys are in a

world of their own (which they enjoy), when i got back from the factory meet i looked

there to see if there were any posts... two posts that day, about citroen transaxles.

November '03 with 1817 posts, look at November this year with 7 posts.

I've honestly had healthier pets than this put down,

I pop in and out of PH fairly regularly. There's another thread recently started (not by me) on wtf the Parts Sale thread had been locked. I've joined in and am waiting for the Mod's answer. Not a happy bunny and despite the copious amount of beer I've consumed tonight (because of?) I'm ready to rip into the Mods for this one!

I'm amazed they're still going. Someone really should pull the plug on Pistonheads & Yahoo. They haven't updated with the times and are now a shadow of their former selves. When I've infrequently visited, tumbleweed comes to mind. Someone put them out of their misery please!

Have to say I would agree with others sentiments, the Pistonheads Lotus sections are not usually worth much of a read. The thread I read the most is the Speed, Plod and the Law, but even that is starting to get abit boring Log live LEF!!!!

Ben, if you haven't already discovered it give Pepipoo a try. By far the best resource for such information. Unlike others, it tends to be strong on fact and (relatively) light on mis-guided opinion.

Blimey, how odd, i posted on the Death star (yahoo) for the first time in years only

last week. Now today i find myself posting for the first time in years on PH forum!

Both times were to illustrate how detached from the world outside these guys are,

i'm kinda facinated by some of them. Rather them there than here mind.

The sale event was offered up on Lotus Esprit World

Is Lotus Esprit world banned here too?

The event was discussed for months beforehand on Lotus Esprit Forum,

and members of Lotus Esprit forum could buy items BEFORE the general

public.

When we tried to give you guys a link to LEF before, guess what?

thats right, it was modded and the poster was banned.

There are people in North america that are by no means the 'Suckers'

you describe. They knew of the sale months beforehand by using LEW and

LEF, and you will find that the day before the sale opened to even the

UK's joe public, items were bought for guys in the states and europe and

are making there way to them as we speak. The very best way of keeping

yourself out of the loop enough to call yourself a 'Sucker', is to remain

on PH and wait until after the event to moan. We would have told you before

but..

It would have been modded

It's the way this ghost town of a forum operates that keeps

you guys out of the loop. Now, when the very important news of

a factory clearout gets to you, guess what.

It gets modded and locked.

I aviod PH like the plague, it's enough to turn me off cars now,

which is very sad, as for a while it was a great place to be. Now

it's just a bit of a joke, and it's you guys losing out bigtime.
