Strange one today!

Recommended Posts

After covering around 15 miles this morning the fuel light came on, gauge which was previously showing full went to empty and range reading on dash started to count down quickly from 340 miles remaining (the tank was almost full)

I stopped to check I hadn't sprung some sort of rapid leak. Turned everything off, closed the doors and allowed car to reset. On starting everything was normal again and no further problems over the next 80 miles.

Obviously an electrical gremlin, anyone else had this?

I'm positive I've seen posts here about that issue before. I think it came down to TADTS.

I did try a search but nothing came up.

Off to Austria, Italy & Switzerland next week so will keep a note of mileage when filling up just in case it becomes more of a "feature" :ermm:

On track my "check remaining range" light came on very quickly

Presumably more due to the mpg being achieved. 50 miles range at 15mpg needs a lot of fuel.

try the Excel. If it's anything like mine was you can turn off the fuel light by taking a right hand bend quickly.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

I believe the conclusion on it was  MDTAST - most do that at some time. I remember having seen it once or twice. I've also seen the range indicator go crazy at very low MPG, aka hard/fast driving. The instrument panel software has a few gremlins. It may be that Lotus put some of these in intentionally just to comfort long standing customers.

If you have the choice between a Stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell don't forget the Nomex®!

I think this is the thread I was thinking of.

Thanks Dave , seems like I have at last managed to get one of those Lotus gremlins.

I was beginning to feel left out up until now
