Is it just me or do you carry around a step ladder for your photos as you appear to have a higher vantage point than normal?

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Just a little update today, went to Bell & Covill to get cruise control fitted and the gear linkage checked and adjusted (under warranty).  Huge improvement in the gearbox feel now and much more accurate so I'm very happy as the gearbox feel was really bugging me.

Cruise control will be tested properly tomorrow, but from quick tests it works although the stalk is fiddly. Can't complain for the price though.

The stalk is a a tad fiddly compared to wheel mounted buttons, and after continuous use to and from my last Euro track jaunt, the button contacts aren't functionioning as well as new on mine (disappointing after only it's first long trip), but as you say it's a useful mod for the cost.

2000 miles in now and loving it still.  Had to order new tyres all round as the tread was getting quite low. Haven't pushed the front tyres much so assume I bought it with pretty low tread from B&C. Should have checked really!

Opted for Nankang NS2R which I know will be a controversial choice, but having had them on cars in the past I know that they're an alright tyre for the purpose of daily driving with the occasional bit of fast driving (my Caterham will be my track car).  If they don't suit I'll stick it on better tyres next time, but at half the price of the OEM Pirelli Corsas it was a no brainer for me at the moment.

Okay, 2bular exhaust is fitted and I bloody love it. It's addictive in loud mode, but you do feel a bit of a tit with it that loud so it's nice to be able to turn it it quiet so quick and easily and there's a dramatic difference. In quiet mode it's similar to standard I think.

The fitment needs a bit of adjustment after a few drives but nothing I can't do in my garage. Jez at Back on Track made it fit (wasn't a perfect fit, but he made it work!). Also the photo is before the heat protection went onto the vacuum pipe.

Also got new Tyres all round as the Pirelli Corsas were a bit low and IMO dangerous in cold conditions. The Nankang NS-2R may seem a strange choice, but I've run it in the past on other cars and think it's a good tyre apart from road noise (which isn't a huge concern to me).  I went for a short drive after getting them fitted and scrubbed them in and after that they had higher grip levels than the Pirellis.  Will be interesting to see what it's like day to day on them.  Oh, I went for 215 wide on the front which probably accounts for a little bit of the grip increase.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!
