Exige 380 vs Exige 360 Cup

DJW

Recommended Posts

So looking at the classifieds , as you do, I note that 380's are listed at same price as the last 360 Cup at B&C (which hasn't sold for a few months now)

So which car would people now buy if they had that budget ?  On one side the Cup is most likely never to be made again, but the 380 is faster around hethel (is that true ?)  and comes with 3 year warranty vs 1 ?

Both great cars.

You'd buy the 380 wouldn't you? If price were equal.

Agree. Although the one at B&c in Essex blue is :wub::wub:. And I think has some fairly tasty options on it, ohlins etc

The quieter exhaust on the 360 Cup should mean access to a greater number of trackdays throughout the year.

If the plan is mainly road use I'd probably go for the Sport 380, for mainly track use - 360 Cup.

Exhaust is going to become more and more of an issue.

Lotus have been promising a track system for the 400.. still no sign of it. Now the 380 uses the same exhaust, hopefully they will hurry up and sort it!

The next tweak on my new exhaust will be to make it compatible with the 400 and 380.......

Right then @Jamie-BellandColvill. I have to now officially call you a little bugger!  Why, well, since your post that I liked above, I now find myself wandering my google browser over to a particular add for an Exige 360 Cup in Essex Blue!  Damn you. That is one pretty purdy 'iccle car!  Just love the colour combo and the looks. It really has turned my head. Wow. Now if it just did not have that 'orrible pig snout exhaust.....  but then hmmm, 2bular manifold and race pipes.... argh argh..... stop it - bad dobbie, bad dobbie!

Right, note to self, never ever read one of Jamie's posts ever ever again.... :)

Did Lotus actually promise a quieter, track system for the 400? Or was it more just a forum rumour/myth?

Good question. I was told by a supplying dealer...

I guess this is also pertinent to 410 owners who are perhaps more likely to track that 400 owners.

thanks Dave, I was keeping an eye on your thread here and at the playground.

I remember asking about it at LMS when the 400 was released. They hadn't heard about it then and, after speaking to a couple of other people more recently, they hadn't heard of any actual development either.

I asked JMG personally in Dec 2015 and he said it was in development.

Haha sorry @C8RKH :-) Yes it is a stunning combo and looks better for not being broken up with the Matte Black Accents, I wanted the car full body coloured. I have some good news in regards the exhaust....The Cup 360 comes with the Lotus sports exhaust which many will recognise as the Sports exhaust that came with the N/A Evora, the Janspeed twin pipe rear box with the blue flame tip, we remove the standard box at this end replace with this.....Saying that I'm also a big fan of the 2Bular exhausts, beautifully made and sound fantastic!! If you ever fancy swinging by for a Coffee and a chat I would be very pleased to show you our Cup 360 :)

I've seen this car in the flesh and let me tell you, as good as it looks in those photos, it's nothing compared to what a show stopper it is when it's actually in front of you. Jamie and the guys at B&C have done an amazing job with the spec on this one too. Just needs the forged wheels really.

I know it will be sold by the time I can afford an Exige so I'm just pretending it doesn't exist. Really, really like it.

Jamie, you're most welcome mate. Now if you could just hide it away until the summer that would be awesome! :D Seriously, it's SOOO good.

Exhaust sounds very very good indeed. And a £3.5k saving over the factory item let alone the track friendly manners is just excellent all round! How does it look out the back? Twin straight pipes?

Will do my best to hide it away for you Mes, I have never been great at selling the cars I like as I always want to keep them so you might be in with a chance :) Yes the exhaust will give 400 and Sport 380 owners the opportunity to enjoy the cars as intended, which is of course on a track! Our design with offer twin straight pipes as your rightly guess. We will hopefully have some pictures in the next couple of weeks to show. The Lotus Titanium exhaust will be different to our system, we have decided to try and make it quieter than the standard exhaust, their system actually makes it louder! I bet the Lotus system will sound incredible but unfortunately you will not be able to go on track with it.

Argh!  You've done it again. You're a double bugger!  Argh!  i have the Lotus Sport Blue tipped exhaust on my NA Evora (mated to Jim's lovely headers!) and it is superb.  I can only say it is a bloody good job I live in Scotland!  You have just made that car even harder to resist. If only it had pink seats eh @CocoPops  then that would have been it!

I'm off to google again..... drifting away......

For the first time in my Lotus Evora ownership I am actually contemplating letting my lovely Evora go to a new home. OMG..... I need to calm down and go and get a stiff drink.

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.
