Exige Sport 350 in Mugello and Imola 2018

The trackday season 2018 for me and my Lotus Exige Sport 350 started at the wonderful racetracks Imola and Mugello in Italy. My Lotus worked without any flaws and provided pure driving pleasure all day - couldn't be any better.

I was extremly lucky at the final stint in Imola when a 991 GT3RS almost hit me -  that was actually  a close call...., I'am so happy I could bring my Lotus home unharmed!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW: This year for the first time I used my new (used...) towcar to carry my Lotus to the racetracks from Germany to Italy, the towcar fortunately worked as perfect as the Lotus didl! Highly recommended!

That looks like fun. 

The GT3RS  - that looked like quite an aggressive overtaking manoeuvre on the corner - he over cooked it and was lucky to slide into the gravel - Arschloch .

Seems like a lot of Porsche on the track - no surprise i guess.

Both tracks look great fun and the Exige is making a decent account of itself.

BTW, do you know that you're holding lock all the way to corner exit rather than blending into the throttle? I know it's something I've worked on and so I kept noticing it in both vids. It doesn't seem to be losing you a huge amount, but might be something to bear in mind.

For a start many thanks for all your sympathetic remarks on my efforts to improve my driving skills and  simultaneously have as much fun as possible on the racetrack with my Lotus .

Especially since the Porschedriver seriously  blamed me for not seeing him coming afterwards in the pits….., your support and your perception of that incident is most welcome (special thanks to Kanada)

The tyres I use on track exclusivly are Pirelli Trofeo R, tyre pressure warm 2,05 bar each – highly recommended

In October last year Komo-Tec in Mendig assembled a platetype LSD from Drexler (60/50) – since then even with Racemode on now there is an uncomplicated and easy to handle  tendency to oversteer exiting tight bends at full throttle, which I nonetheless the fact the oversteer is easy to handle unfortunately still instinctively try to avoid – I’ll work on that…. - but anyway thanks for sharing the observance

for me ... It is a VW T5 car transport (Autotransporter).

The manufactorer of the towcar is a company called "Algema" from austria - here's the link to their homapage

The special towcar setup I bought is called Fitzel Speeder 46-20 - the chassis is made by VW (T5). The gross limited weight is 3.500 kg, the vehicle payload is about 1.400 kg

I've been doing a lot of track days with Porsches and Porsche Club Geneva in my Porsche days, and  I can tell you just one thing, the one overtaking is responsible for what he's doing. And you're responsible for your trajectory, not his.... and this is repeated over and over in all briefings before a track day, and I believe on every track around the world.... so don't worry, and be happy ...
