  1. Could be, I assumed it had turbo sills and ears fitted. It does sit high but lines are very similar if so. I’m not entirely convinced though as the arches flare like a S1 and it has the turned up tail?
  2. Posted on FB, nice period Essex shots.
  3. Another nice pic of Miss Munro 🙂
  4. I saw that and again a good price albeit the SE is a better proposition and nicer car. Mind this has to be the bargain, a S1 in bits advertised for £7500 on our own classifieds. The seller is looking at closer to £15k which is still very cheap for a S1 these days and the least I’ve seen one go for in many years. Good body with no sunroof either!
  5. Now seems to be a buyers market with a couple indicators that the economy is starting to reflect on values. Two running cars for some renovations this week £15000 for a SE with no bids now back on. £18200 reserve not met on this rather nice turbo You wouldn’t have seen this several months ago. The best cars will always be sought by the collectors at a premium but for the everyday person now’s the time to strike if you’ve been priced out over recent years with the classic boom. No doubt both these beauties will find new enthusiasts soon 🤞🏼
  6. Ditto Keith, I was there and have the catalogue. I visited Peters Neilsons Cars the star museum as well. The cars heading off to export to their new owner Michael Dezer.
  7. Thanks for the tip, not tried that before. 🙂
  8. Seems a low price estimate for a high wing?
  9. Thanks Roo, I’ll remember that tip for the next time as these are very clean just a bit dull compared to previous ones I’ve done.
  10. I’ve been caught doing a cylinder head in the dishwasher before 😁 It came up well and I had the silent treatment for a couple days so double bonus 🥴
  11. With the weather being unsettled it was time to sit at the dining room table and tinker so built the carbs up post cleaning. Pretty happy although I had to buy a fair few new jets, choke pistons, bearings and kits so not the cheapest build up. The HC set were toasted in the engine fire so happy enough they were saved ok. Rebuild of the brake calipers next weekend I think now I’ve taken over a nice warm area 🙂 (She’s not impressed 🫣).
  12. Doing body repairs in situ with sunroofs being the worst as resin and hair aren’t a good combo 🫣 The spaniels clippers have been employed on a few occasions 🙂
  13. Sorry Pete I no longer own the JPS, I did remove a HC engine from an excel last year and sold the car to someone doing an electric conversion. Not sure if they’ll fit but maybe able to find his details. I kept the motor but gave him everything which was attached in case he went for an engine instead.
  14. SJ sell the rear lamp recess panels https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/SJ085M0004.htm https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/SJ085M0003.htm Dave
  15. This is an interesting photo not seen before from the set.
  16. Gorgeous car and lovely to see the best of the marque hitting prestigious figures normally seen in more exclusive brands.
  17. It’s a limited run super car with Grand Prix heritage so probably sitting where it belongs, not like buyers have much choice on the market and it’s ready to use. I’d love it but out of my league these days. 🙂
  18. Decided to play with my new ultrasonic cleaner today and start on the carbs, still not decided what I’m doing with the car so did both the HC set and the E’s. They came up pretty well after doing two 30min cycles per carb at 60 degrees, I’ll finish them with carb cleaner once I remove the shafts and bearings. I had all the steel work plated when I did the gearbox and have the overhaul kits. Next job is a decent inspection of everything and order what’s needed. Dave
  19. I think it needs a reprisal in a modern movie or some cool you tuber to buy one… Still the best movie car from my childhood and my favourite toy car when I was a kid 😉
  20. Mind this looked like more fun when hamster drove the submarine excel using positive pressure in the cabin to hold the water out.. https://youtu.be/xfOwSTXP-3o
  21. Yes I did have better pics somewhere, it was a bit of a mishmash but still a good laugh, these days most younger people would look bemused having no idea what it was all about 🙄 I live near the water so worth doing when retired I think 🙂
  22. A modest lottery win and it’s coming home 😉
  23. I’ve been tempted to do that for years Nu! A Guy did one years ago but it was bought by James Strickland in the US who uses it on the lake at his property. Finding a suitable shell is the problem but what fun 😁
