  1. I live in Norwich and I don't rate Dunston hall. Very tired but with a great facade.
  2. Really fancy an Elite after watching that !
  3. I booked in with Alex to go and spectate yesterday and had a lovely time in the Norfolk sunshine. If anyone is nervous about taking their car on track because it is their pride and joy then you would not need to worry at this event. It was a well organised event and it is focused more around people enjoying their cars around an iconic track appose to setting the fastest lap time. The staff space the cars release on track so there is no pressure from someone coming up behind you quickly and pressuring you to drive beyond your limits. The only pressure it appeared was the pressure that you place on yourself to carry and better line and more speed. Martin Donnelly was there offering instruction too. How can you get better instruction that a ex f1 driver. The reason why I went to have a look is because I have always been worried about taking my 40 year old europa around a track (exception of parade laps). I have attended other track days and there seems to be more modern cars with inexperienced drivers bombing passed you and then almost barrel rolling their cars around the bends. My Europa is my pride and joy and I never fancied some idiot crashing into the side or rear of it. I will however happily sign up to this event if hosted in the future as the participants seemed to get what it was all about (maybe a very good brief at the beginning of the day before then event at a guess).
  4. I've organised to pop there about lunch time just to spectate ! Weather is looking good gents. Might have to give the Europa a little wash first
  5. Don't sell it. Life pressures come and go. I don't thing lotus'sssss will go up in the future like ferraris but I'm sure in 15 years time you will mutter the words ... If only I kept it. You can't put a price on the smile on your face whenever you open the garage door
  6. In my opinion I would leave it, however as you have raised the question, it would indicate that you would like to do it. As this is the case , sod the money, get on with it and then you will have no doubt in your mind. Your next track day will then be 100% enjoyment appossed to hearing noises that don't actual exist.
  7. Looks very sharp ! I'm guessing 12000-15000 depending on how sharp it looks in real life
  8. Thank you gentlemen ! Been looking for that for hours. Back on track now
  9. Evening people, i have beem been trying to view the forum how I use to since the upgrade. Does anyone know how to filter new content only ? I generally view on iPad or iPhone and can't filter the content to new content like I use to be able to . thanks for your help stuart
  10. Yep ! Wouldn't miss it for anything. 4th year on the trot and just as excited as the first time.
  11. Have you spoken to the historic lotus register?
  12. Just returned home after a sprint event in a Lotus 31. It's the first time I have driven a single seater race car. I must say it could not have been a better environment to start in. The event was run by Javelin and the staff where very helpful as where the fellow drivers. The event was against the clock so you competed against yourself so zero pressure for a first run. The car was not running right (limited revs) but for the moments it was flying through the bends it was amazing. For anyone looking to dip their toe in Motorsport I can not recommend it enough regardless of what car you are running. There where cars from Austin 7's to Audi R8s.
  13. That's a lotus 23 chip. A local guy called nick adams owns it. He still works at the factory too.
  14. I went to Norwich airport today to watch it. Amazing! It just hangs in the air, it's a shame it only did two fly pasts , but pleased to have seen it.
  15. It certainly pays off bibs even if it's a bit of a pain in the arse
  16. Bibs how do you film that without camera shake ! What are you using? Sorry a bit of topic Car looks awesome but out of my league £££
  17. Hope this might help in some way. My fan intermittently worked. Absolutely fine direct off of a battery and sometimes ok In the car but then it would blow fuses. There was a star washer which kept getting stuck on the shaft and pulled to many amps to spin it. Have you connected a battery straight to the fan to see if it works ?
  18. A big thank you to Bibs and Laura for a wonderful day. Well worth the cost of the membership for a year just for this one event. Parade laps where fantastic even if my car did throw a belt. Lovely to see all of your cars, perfect day for a lotus nut. Finally not forgetting a big thank your for the marshals too.
  19. I got about as far as the Mercedes dealership. Scratching my head trying to work it out as the water pump is at the front of the engine up against the bulk head , I had to get my iPhone in there to take a photo, thought it might have been a stuck thermostat. Not the end of the world really. Ordered the part today for £11. I have been to goodwood and brand hatch in it so don't let it out you off. Cracking day and the transporter lorry driver was a good chap who loved his cars so rambled on about cars all the way home. Thanks for getting a pic of the car in track that's the one.
