  1. US dealers, at least my local dealer were shown at least one crappy picture of the Emira. I think it's great that Lotus et al have been able to keep this under wraps. As much as I'd like to see it ahead of time, I'd rather see a proper unveiling at their name sake event at Goodwood. Could a bigger marque been able to pull off the same?
  2. If not Hattingley, I am fan of Ambriel or Gusbourne for English sparklers.
  3. Where's your pride of Queen and Country? You should be drinking Hattingley not Prosecco.
  4. Do you think age bracket plays into whether one is more apt to buy a V6 or 4 cylinder? Seems the younger one is, the more "accepting" of a smaller cylinder and displacement. Older folks, "no V12?"
  5. I love the Volvo running gear in our XC60. We are going to order a V60 in a month or so to replace the XC60. The digital gauges and cluster are great in the Volvo, I hope they use the same tech. Everything is vivid with all sorts of telemetry. The only knock I would give the Volvo system is that it's too complicated. Too many menus and sub menu's for me.
  6. Have to pick my battles and personally have become a fan of the paddles. My Aston converted me and my friend's California reaffirmed it.
  7. Paddles are my first choice. Wife needs to be able to drive it when necessary...
  8. Lotus will need a plan to get perspective buyers to test drive if they want to sell on a perception in the car. Numbers cannot convey the sensory event or know how one feels behind the wheel. At least now there is YouTube and the like to help promote that angle of the car more than decades past.
  9. Those with deposits will be the first cars offered to the franchise from Lotus to order. In theory, their whole Emira allocation for the year could be consumed with customer deposited cars.
  10. These two seem reasonable or I would be 75% of what it'll look like. As nice as the Behar era designs are, they are quite old and aero management & design ethos has advanced too much for Lotus use those designs.
  11. Local dealership service manager had a picture of it in his emails. He said it was not a good pictures, but looked like Evija styling. He was trying to find it, but couldn't. I suspect others in the same role as him got that email as well? What are the odds a leaked legit picture of the Emira will surface before Goodwood?
  12. It all looks a bit "Volvoy", but in a good way.
  13. I don't think new buyers into the Lotus brand have an affinity towards their Lotus being made in Hethel or even the UK. Geely has proved Volvo does not need to be made in Sweden with their two most popular models made in the US and China respectively. It'll take some time before the Lotus volume warrants a foreign production line, but if it does... That is a sign of success for Lotus.
  14. The last 25 year of Lotus models have proven they are not so bad on depreciation. Look at a 2011 911 vs. 2011 Evora; Evora is a good buy if you held it 10 years.
  15. Lotus dealers could really benefit from Evora owners trading up to the Emira. The dealerships need something to sell at all price points.
  16. The "back seat" of the Evora is the best in class for a pet. Not having the seats as buckets is way more useful to haul one's best buddy.
  17. @Evotion Maybe someone near you on this forum has an Evora 400 they can give you a drive in? It'll bridge the gap to get a better picture of what the Emira should be like. You tried one end of the scale, now the other the other. I don't think it'll be necessary to drive it, just be in it for spin.
  18. If you can hold the car 10 years; Lotus is historically a great value. Look at how much a 2012 Evora sells for compared to what it cost new. Not many sports car in that price range are like that.
  19. Why not the Evora? Emira will be closer to the Evora than the Exige.
  20. My wife's car is a 2020 Volvo XC60 T6 Inscription that we lease from Volvo Financial. Volvo has their own financing arm in the US and I thought they also use Chase. In the States many just go through their own bank or whichever local bank posts the lowest rates. Auto dealerships hate this as they get no kick backs on the loan.
  21. Which model did you drive and how did you like it (or not)?
