I know I'm months behind the times here but LH68 AGU was my Exige prior to my current Emira. Loved the car and it gave me very few problems. I'll take "high-flyer"!

Not exactly a 3.5l supercharged V6-lovers paradise but was quite looking forward to driving mine to Glastonbury! Oh well, Exige it is.

An email from Lotus dropped into my inbox literally as I was reading this thread. I was scheduled for a June delivery but... "As you’ll be aware from our previous communication, your new Emira specification is now fixed in our production system and scheduled to be completed in June 2022. Therefore, we are pleased to inform you that your new Emira will be ready for handover in July 2022. Ahead of this, we will be in contact to arrange the delivery and handover with you. We appreciate this is later than originally predicted, so please accept our sincere apologies for the slight delay. In the coming weeks we will be providing more information regarding financial services, trade-in and insurance products that you may be interested in for your new Emira. Following that, a couple of weeks before handover we will be in touch to complete the checkout process. We know you have been waiting and are excited to receive your new Emira but please be assured that it will be everything you’d expect and more from a Lotus car." Not particularly bothered (or surprised) unless it's a slippery slope.

Hello there. I had ceramic treatment on the entirety of my Exige a couple of years ago and it has been brilliant. Will definitely be doing the same with the Emira. I took mine to Bell & Colvill who sent it off to I don't know who. Not the Midlands though (probably).

Hi All Just in case it's helpful... B&C deposit for a V6 FE on the 28th of April. Lotus deposit on the 7th of July. Call today from Lotus confirming June delivery, taking B&C deposit into account. "One of the very first Emiras...". Followed up with the email below. Thank you for your time on the phone today. As discussed, we can confirm that your Emira V6 First Edition has been scheduled for build and will be available for you in June. From January you will be able to go online and view your finance and payment options and see the list of Lotus agents who will be ready to hand over your car. If you are interested in trading in a car, you’ll be able to get an indicative valuation online. Then up to 30 days before your car is due to be ready for delivery, we will invite you to complete your payment, sign your contract and make a final decision about where you will collect your car, or if you would like it delivered to your home address. Please let me know if you have any questions or queries in the meantime. If not, please do have a merry Christmas on behalf of Lotus. All dependent on if Omicron allows anyone to actually go into work over the coming months, of course. Merry Christmas!

I have been vacillating between touring and sports suspension and was all set to go with the former based on never going to the track. I thought I'd have a chat with a well-respected dealer, who shall remain nameless, to get his views. I drive an Exige which is very stiff indeed and absolutely love it. His advice was go for sports. He even went as far as to say that touring is better for people new to Lotus - so called "conquest customers". Jag drivers basically! I don't think there's a right or wrong answer. I am just as convinced by Gav's advice but, loving the Exige (and the sports Emira apparently being less stiff than that) my mind was made up. Sports it is.

I see. Not really an issue as I'm pretty sure on the config. Roll on the press reviews...

Paid my second deposit today and only afterwards noticed the below on the config page. I was under the impression that the period ended on the 5th. Am I missing something do you think? I might have waited in the (probably vain) hope of seeing some fully painted cars before the 12th. My fault for not reading the small print! "Configuration Period means the period of time between the 20th September 2021 and the 12th November 2021 and during which you will be invited by email to Configure an Emira by paying a Configuration Fee."

After factory Gtechniq ceramic coating on my Exige. £500 through B&C when I picked up the car. Absolutely love it. Never used polish since, water beads and runs straight off, easy to clean. Has lasted 2 years so far and still great. Will look to arrange the same for the Emira.

Important question. When they say 'Welcome drinks', do they mean a weak lemon squash or lashings of Krug? Might get the train to B&C if it's the latter!
