  1. It isn't very Evora shaped Barry?!?!?
  2. I'm the opposite. I have a very reliable girlfriend and a very understanding Esprit.
  3. How insulting! How very dare you all. I have this and I LOVE IT!!!
  4. Official TLF Lotus Supercar Weekend 3rd-4th August 2019 (same as Beaulieu - f*** them) Wroughton Aerodrome, Swindon, Wiltshire Home of the Science Museum National Collection The National Collections Centre is currently home to thousands of large items from the Science Museum Group collection — such as the world’s first hovercraft and an early robotic arm used in manufacturing—as well as the Science Museum’s Library and Archives which contain over half a million items that chart the history of science, technology, engineering and medicine from the fifteenth century to the present day. Free to show your Lotus and free to the public to come and look ---------------------- It wouldn't take much to organise, obviously need to get in touch with the SM, burger vans, my local substance dealers and my "ladies" blah blah blah This might not be possible but it is an idea. What do you think @Bibs?
  5. Indeed. There will be almost nothing there. No DB6s, Stags, XJSs etc. etc. which I really liked to see the last time I went. Foot. Big smoking hole.
  6. Received this from Club Lotus Wessex about this year's event: Dear Member, I have spoken to Beaulieu events team about the possibility of a Club Lotus stand at the Beaulieu Supercar Weekend again this year. Unfortunately I was informed that this year there a criteria which must be met and they would only consider top of the range Evoras and Exiges to qualify for “Supercar” status and all other models would be excluded. The fact that the Esprit Turbo, for example, was a significant supercar of its day seems to have passed them by. I therefore took the decision that the club will not be having an official presence at the show this year due to the high level of exclusion for most of our members. Any member is, of course, entitled to attend the show under his own steam but there will be no Club Lotus stand. Entry can be done through the Beaulieu website. Regards Ian Rymer Wessex Area Co-ordinator Well bo**ocks to Bealieu then.
  7. Thanks very much for the pics Dave, that really is good work and it has got me thinking! Just a point about your discs, they're on the wrong sides, the grooves should be pointing "backwards".
  8. Is the hand crafter you Dave or is it someone else who might repeat this awesomeness?
  9. Was the aerokit a factory option Dave? Sorry to persist but I don't think I have seen one before. Just wondering about a V8 version...
  10. What a beautiful car Dave. <swoon> Where did you get the side splitters from, or is it an undertray?
  11. THAT IS A THING OF STUNNING BEAUTY AND ORIGINALITY Wow
  12. I'm doing some consultancy for a certain motor car engineering and manufacturing company based in Woking at the moment. I have to restrain myself from saying "your cars are shite and you really should get some proper automotive engineering input from a proper sports car manufacturer, go and talk to Lotus". Needless to say that my directors have threatened me with a very big stick followed by ejection if I do actually say that. So when I am there I just walk around rolling my eyes and sighing instead.
  13. I completely agree. The V8 was designed to output up to 550bhp as a race engine and at a detuned 350bhp it is hardly trying or stressed. Granted, it could (potentially) go bang in the GT1 full on form. The other point is that the performance and handling limits and capability are way beyond my driving abilities and as you note, improbable to reach on public roads. So again, engine stress is lowered. Aside from all this I don't get why other Lotus owners diss the V8 engine so much. After all it was designed, developed and tested by the best automotive engineering company in the world which we must surely all agree on. Looked after properly it a reliable thing of wonder and to me, admiration.
  14. Yes I know Barry but the differences between a late V8 and an S350 are much, much less than between an S4 and an S300. They're mainly cosmetic after all. Hence my comparison with an FE.
  15. Well your "average" V8 has been around £35-£40k recently. S350s are very thin on the ground though. I'm thinking that is higher than what @purso got for his very low mileage Final Edition. So probably about £10-£15k too high?
  16. No, we're not married and never have been. So don't fret, it's perfectly acceptable. Nope. Think of it as a double whammy Bazza. I just KNEW you were going to say this! You really should come to Swindon for some um "leisure time", I can help you with that sir...
  17. Guilty on both counts yer honour And it is ****ing heaven Don't knock it until you have tried it
  18. Ummm, have you sold the Turbo @Mark Blanchard?
  19. You put virgins in an oven? Come on man, send them over here and I will send you a large turkey by return to put in it instead.
  20. That's actually a high tech parts washer...
  21. Ah there there, denial is a very sad thing to behold... Inadequacy cover up is a very common trait in human males.
