  2. Hi everyone. I am looking for info on garages/mechanics in the Doncaster area how could advise on re-commissioning of a 2+2. TIA Stu

  5. Blimey - I thought my project was tired. Now its positively sparkling
  6. If your car is insured etc get it done on the insurance but insist on a specialist do it ie Lotusbits. - Due to the chrome work etc.
  7. Spotted on Fosseway V8 Esprit heading south. A little poorly I might add! Left side farting like a trooper and smoking like Churchill
  8. Hi everyone , yes that was me. Harry is a local celeb in my area often seen in a lotus or something exotically similar. 😊 . Nice to see the marque getting some over due recognition . Signed photos will be available at the next NEC show in 2025 😂😂😂 On my way for a MOT and Cam belt change.
  9. My thoughts are no. BH doesnt have the central square tower. But good idea.
  10. Do the Lotus ones have alternate side reverse or fog on the inner part? Hillman hunters used them too
  11. Got mine from ClassicDash - normally at NEC
  12. The tyre thing is one of those old stories which you have to make your own decision. Museum cars are fine as they generally just sit on them. The issue is the age hardening of the older rubber technology compounds (IIRC). These would glass over and become so hard there was no flex or grip. An infamous bus crash in Cornwall was attributed to 35 year old tyres with loads of tread but no grip. However, modern-er compounds may behave differently. An MOT would advise on aged tyres. They can definitely be kept as show tyres to keep originality etc. or for a rolling chassis. As said most wouldn't drive on them. Excellent effort on your project. Brave man.
  13. Also note that my pilkington one fitted by Autoglass isnt the right fit. High at the top. high in the corners. I heard the LB ones fit well.
  14. If you pop across to Lotusexcel.net you can subscribe to the parts manual which will give you all the diagram breakdowns you will need.
  15. Switch to an SA Excel chassis. Been done 😀
  16. Speaking as excel owner, I believe there is a how to guide on the lotusexcel.net forum. Does the eclat door skin 'wrap' around the hinge pin like the excel? If so I dont think you will be able to remove the pin. You will need to break the door down - frame; skin then beam. You may need to press in new bushes as well. Dont remove the door as a whole as they are quite heavy and you will end up doing damage.
