  1. That will be the sealant to stop you getting wet feet 👍
  2. If its the same as the Turbo then there is nothing covering that drainage channel with bonnet open. The mesh is on the bonnet and those two holes are for screws to secure the vent moulding 🙂
  3. For those of you that are old enough to remember Aurora AFX, I was watching this on ebay and was shocked to say the least. I’ve got one….somewhere
  4. Im not sure when it was introduced. I spotted a car with one and then looked back at all my roadtests to find its on all the a/c ones that show the passenger footwell. Also in the parts book too. Using a sample sill i opened up the rear of my existing one to give better clearance to the hoses through the bulkhead.
  5. On factory a/c cars the hoses emerge under a carpeted moulding riveted to front of sill panel. Im retro fitting factory a/c and got SJ to make up all the hoses for me.
  6. I remember that car at Stoneleigh way back when I parked next to it. It was in a magazine article too.
  7. Anyone still looking for a dome light as I found mine in the end 🙂
  8. That’s looking better already! 👍
  9. With the suspension now as Lotus intended… it should be transformed!
  10. Love seeing the end result of your efforts and I should know! Totally awesome! How can paint reflect like that? Another happy Esprit owner no doubt.
  11. The later cars do seem to have wider supports. The ones on Harry Metcalfes HC are definitely wider than on my 82 Turbo
  12. A LHD one without ‘ears’ too, so another pre-production prototype?
  13. Im curious about the full removable roof panel on this 81 car. That would take a serious amount of work to install. The other later bits would be easy enough to revert back if desired.
  14. Looks like an updated n/a S3 to me
  15. My 82 Turbo engine, now rebuilt with HTD setup and fixed tensioner. Other photo shows drilling jig for tensioner mounting hole.
  16. Famous last words but i think the lever itself will be a straightforward retrofit. If i recall correctly the microswitch for the handbrake light is mounted differently but thats about it. Will find out for sure when I come to fit it this spring.
  17. I’ve purchased a used ‘multiplier’ lever setup for my 82 TE restoration to retrofit. I am just swapping the lever itself so will not benefit from any ‘multiplier’ effort as such but at least it will fold flat. My 93 S4 folded flat and it made getting in/out that bit easier, especially as i am a bit short in the leg (seat further forward!) and I'm that bit older now too!
  18. There is a theme to those boxes. How many crisps do you eat? 😱
  19. It was the diamond cutting i didn't like which most companies employed. Looked too much like a record close up, so its great that these people took the time to find a better way. They will definitely be getting a visit in due course! Thank you for posting the results.
  20. At last....a company that knows what they are doing with CX500’s. I knew if I held out long enough the right people would appear. Wheels look stunning!
  21. The ones with the thinner rims are correct for dry sump cars. Left on top pic and bottom on second pic 🙂
  22. It was a good example but previous owner had gone a bit OTT with the colour coding and had painted the cam covers red etc. Always was the plan to put it right, then add Compomotives and roof stereo. Did make me smile to see it pop up as it used to be!
  23. FFK is mine Dave! Looking much better these days with its reinstated correct A pillars and black bumpers. Still not a complete car...but am working on that one! 😁
  24. What happened to opening a door for a lady? (Esp when in full view of everyone!) 😉
  25. A huge thank you to my good friend @CHANGES for taking this one on. Every aspect of the restoration carried out has far exceeded what I thought possible. It is true...this car is my pride and joy, owned for 29 ish years, so want it to be as good as it can be as I only intend doing it the once! The original shut-lines were particularly bad in areas on this one (even allowing for what’s normal), so when i found out this could be corrected then I was more than happy to let Dave work his magic, and then some! The journey so far has been fantastic and I have learned a lot about paint (and the 910) along the way. This is why it pays to entrust certain areas to people with experience, who really know what they are doing, and I was fortunate to be able to engage the very best in the business. Dave will confirm blood, sweat and tears (scraping the underside no doubt) have gone into this one but the end result speaks for itself. Its over to me now and I hope my part of the restoration will compliment the standard achieved. No pressure then! 😁 ....and then its onto the rolling road to see how many horses are still in the stable 😬....but until then....there is work to do! Richard PS....those white BBS are not staying! Got a nice set of Compomotives to go on complete with roof stereo! Just had to be done!
