  1. Nice car!! (good to see one on the road! )
  2. Thank you Ian I will soon have a look at the ECU itself. If it's confirmed it has been chipped, I hope it has been done properly so that it's easy to revert to a stock chip ... and I hope the 6CE5 is not a stupid/dangerous modification ... Anyway, would someone send me the 1496 binary dump so that I can compare the latest official and mine to check what the differences are? (or at least to check if there are a lot of differences or just a few bytes, as I know it's "a bit" hard to understand ^^) Thanks in advance!
  3. If I understand well there has been several of them, the 1496 being the later one (also know as the mark 5 revision)? Does that mean there were 4 official EPROM revisions before that one? (so 5 in total?) What are the official EPROM IDs? (For your information, the 6CE5 version is unknown to PUK Esprit Racing, so it's not one of theirs apparently)
  4. As for the Esprimon and Freescan they both work on a 32 bits Win 10.
  5. Hello Everyone, Is there a known list of the EPROM IDs to identify them for sure? It would be handy to know what chip is in the car, if it's an official Lotus one or a modified version, if possible by who it has been done, etc. As for me, I think the ECU has been opened since the wire seal is cut but I haven't opened it myself yet. According to Esprimon, my EPROM ID is 6CE5. Is it the Lotus official EPROM for an S4s? Thanks in advance! EDIT: well apparently 6CE5 is probably not a stock EPROM ... unless there are several versions ... Any help would appreciated to identify it!
  6. Thank you very much! According to that page https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/default.aspx?catid=864 it's made by Saint Gobain which is a French company. That would be a shame if I couldn't find a few meters ...
  7. Hi, As for that tubing, what is the best source to replace it? I need to change it, too: it's split in two halves ... I have read somewhere that its diameter is not that easy to find (non standard respective inner/outer diameters?) I suppose there might be a better alternative than just buying the original part that is not petrol resistant?
  8. I am tempted too ... Do you confirm it's only around 20€ with DPD Express Classic or UPS Standard to send the parcel to France (according to parcel2go.com)?! (without the crank, as it's much more expensive if the parcel is exceeding 30 kg apparently?). What would be the price if you put the crank in a second parcel?
  9. Yes of course, I was talking about the S4 since it was the initial subject of @Barrykearley As for the brace, I totally agree with you: I once read that the best enhancement for any sports car would be for the average driver to take a course on a track, and I agree with that. As a plus, you don't need to buy it again when you buy another car!
  10. Not so sure about that, since it's probably an off the shelf component even for the R25 you never know the specifications it was designed built for. I would say we only know it was rated as tough enough to handle 200bhp by Renault engineers. (Or Renault sales services Oo) And even so, maybe it's a bit less durable but as long as it's cheap and it doesn't slide, I would say it's not big deal if you change it yourself. On a side note, the Renault engines (at least the 4pot R21 Turbo, I don't know the v6 R25) were slow engines (8 valves), which means that they had a lot of torque to peak at 200+ bhp. So the clutch is probably not that far. EDIT: I just found a S4 develops 261 lbs f (353.9 N.m) and the R25 29m.kgf (284.4 N.m). OK it's less than 30% but not by much (354/285=1.25). @ian29gte > lol yes probably, I think you just have summed up the whole S4s concept (It's just a shame they didn't have enough engine braces, I don't know if it makes a sensible difference but it looks cool!! )
  11. Thank you very much, I indeed moved a bit those wires when I tried to access the flywheel TDC sensor hole. Would you suggest to remove the boot floor to have a better view of that area? I will also check the relays again even if I don't think they are the source of my problem because I had to remove the front and rear ignition relays to simulate the problem. I gather it is far too improbable that both fails and recover at the exact same time ...!
  12. Thanks a lot for the details! (I didn't think the ~20 bhp difference would have required such a difference in the clutch)
  13. @Barrykearley > interesting, thanks I just found it here https://www.oscaro.com/kit-d-embrayage-renault-r25-2-5-v6-turbo-205cv-479-11428-1818-gt#1818 (Since it includes the tax it's a bit cheaper but the SJS price is not ridiculous) Does anyone know why it's not listed as compatible for the Sport 300 and S4s? I never had a look but I would have assumed it would be the same.
  14. Hello, It appears I have a similar problem — although for me it's intermittent. I have already checked the relays ignition (front and rear boots) and I would be curious to have a look at those three wires you were talking about. Where can I find them exactly? I had a quick look from the upper side and the underneath but haven't found them?! Thanks in advance! PS: my exact symptoms are that sometimes I have neither pumps nor tell tales, but the starter turns OK. I am going to look at the wirings in the workshop manual, but I am still curious about that 3 black wires ... !
  15. Hello Everyone, Very slow progress on that subject (totally idling if I am being honest) but at least I took a photo of where is located the valve on a LHD car if anyone is interested. Here it is:
  16. (Hi @phil flash, I didn't know you were registered here, too ^^ — sorry for the off topic, I was just passing by!)
  17. Awesome! If I were you I would paint the pedals in black too, as the rest is now pristine! (at least the throttle one)
  18. All right, thanks; I don't need one anyway, I was just surprised and curious ^^
  19. Yes, I am wondering why! (the front speakers are 100mm in diameter aren't they? I checked on the near side and I would say that 130mm would almost fit, but ...)
  20. That looks really nice! I am surprised new binnacle are still available. Are new ones cheaper than to refurbish our originals?
  21. ^^ Why did you refurbish all the set? Were they really worn?
  22. Awwww, that must be frustrating now the rest is OK(ish?)! (Maybe they fixed their wall clock themselves the way they fix the gauges?)
