After market parts markup is pretty horrific as well, often several hundred percent(!) Something more specialist like the carbon fibre panels will be pricy whereas glass less so, none the less £40.00 to replace glass seems very cheap! I’ll take two!! Haha My guess is that all the carbon bits were seen as a must have in the market place, it does lift the car and create presence so it’s a worthwhile outlay, but then the price hiked as well!
  2. Wow that’s good going! im not expecting to get near that but maybe when I do some long journeys I’ll see what I can do! I have an IPS and in 6th at 65 it’s below 2000rpm so should see me get to the mid-20s!
  3. I can do either of those so it makes no difference to me 🙂
  4. Yes it does have a bigger tank that what I’ve put in today, but that’s how many miles I’ve done since filling it.... I’ve been in mix of roads, including motorway when I’ve driven between 60-70 with cruise control (because motorways are boring!) I know the S is going to be more thirsty so just trying to gauge what’s realistic really! what is difficult is how addictive the speed is, and the noise!! It really does need restraint when driving!
  5. So, I’m just curious what people tend to see to a tank. I’ve not bought the car for MPG however I am curious to see whether it can be any good for a long motorway journeys. Had the car three weeks now and I’ve filled up 3 times...now I know I’m driving it spiritedly (very much so I fact!) so I’m looking to know if 184miles from 42 litres is in line with others experiences?
  6. So far, I always have sport mode on as well, and I use the paddles for all gear changes unless I'm sat in traffic for a while then I'll take advantage of the auto-box! Do remember though that the traction control is relaxed a bit in sport mode - I've not driven in the rain yet so can't comment on notable differences but I think its an important consideration when the weather worsens. So far there's so much grip its not been a problem at all!

    410 Sport!

very very nice - congratulations! 🙂
  8. I've no idea what a CDL pin is or why it would be deleted! Good spot on the carpet mats though - they'll be changed for new at some point! According to the book, Mr Murray owned it for just short of 18 months...
  9. And congrats on the new purchase 🙂
  10. I think as well that the door sills would all be leather as well...?
  11. haha - my other cars a Lexus as well! But I have black interiors. Both excellent in their own way for different reasons, I plan to stick with Lexus when it comes to changing to that and the Lotus is for keeps! Unless I get an opportunity for a 400 perhaps...
  12. I’ve noticed now after driving it a bit that the steering wheel paddles on my IPS are a bit worn / sticky feeling. they appear to be made from metal but with sone type of that fancy liquid rubber coating which is basically a bit worse for wear now. im looking at my options for it, so first up would be what is best to clean it with it, a damp cloth hasn’t done much but thought I’d next try fairy liquid!! second option would be to see if I can change / replace them, but don’t want to spend hundreds. I’m planning on getting the steering wheel retrained from royalsteering so I’ll see if that’s something they also extend to offering. otherwise, alternatives and any cleaning tips welcome. cheers!
  13. Call up some dealers and get your preferences in they’ll call you as some come in. that one at JCT Leeds is nice, it’s price has gone back up of late, dropped to 28 something but listing again at 29 now, I was nearly tempted with it myself. The Ice Blue is fantastic.
  14. Ha - itches are meant to scratched mate!
  15. Some interior pics and moody night shot... checked the VIN, 10th char is a ‘C’ so all good... been drivng it some more and I have to say it’s re-writing what I thought was possible, it’s so so good to drive!
  16. I can’t comment on reliability experience as I’ve only owned just over a week(!) but like electroboy above I did lots of research before taking the plunge, it certainly compares favourably in running costs - how any car will eventually have things to sort, and some could be major...so perhaps it’s more a question of whether you’re prepared to look after it vs say just driving it and getting rid of it when it goes wrong? from my research though the odds are in the Evora’s favour for being reliable enough...
  17. My advice would be to simply follow your heart, and as you’ve outlined above: Evora = heart Mazda = head You’ll enjoy the Evora at any speed, it’s handling, poise and steering will make any journey a joy; the Mazdas a great car, th gearbox a particular highlight but for me it’s just not as interesting as a Lotus, I think you might find after a few years you’ll end up saying “I wish I’d gone with the Evora” Its also true that you’ll not lose as much cash but then you’ll not want to sell the Evora so it doesn’t matter anyway!

I think build quality is right up there, having seen them being built too, it’s a great factory, calm and composed I thought as well! They had a few 430 sports there too and they looked incredible!! Showed my best mate my MY12 Evora the other day and he had three things to say, n this order: 1) I’m amazed how well built it is 2) sounds amazing 3) Its quicker than my Maserati! (4200 GT) So I can only imagine how much fun and enjoyment people are having in theirs!!! Good choice people!!
  19. Fantastic pics! I’ve added that driving route to my list! Interesting on the tyres as well, mine has PZeros on it and I’d already decided to change to PS4s when the time comes following some other threads on here. Have you changed the geo at all on your car?
  20. This will be my first meet(!) Be great to meet some fellow enthusiasts 🙂I can do Monday, Wednesday and Thursday as well..! Hopefully work commitments won't get in the way.
  21. Pulled up behind me this evening near Junction 9 M27 (Whiteley). I put my hazards on a waved through the window! To whoever it was - an awesome colour you have!
  22. That’s an interesting take on the torque causing suspension issues, at least you have a baseline with them to monitor for recurrence and perhaps you could specifically ask them to check over the replaces parts for wear when it’s next in for a service...? Glad it’s sorted though 🙂
  23. My passenger side squeaked quite annoyingly but all I had to do was give the rubber seal a wipe with a damp cloth, dry it, and then clean the glass with rainex glass cleaner - applying rainex afterward as well now it closes silently...
  24. I generally wave at any car that interest me !! I waved at a old Covette just the other day, got a thumbs up back!
