  1. I went into their 'seats stock' a few weeks ago, they had 2 sets for M100, one 'poorish' and one 'betterish', neither are advertised. I actually went to look at a pair of Evora CF seats (they are advertised) to think about fitting them to my M100.
  2. Could ask SWLC they have loads of seats, but are not cheap.
  3. Not as bad as many others I have seen. Not surprised he was not happy.
  4. Had a little issue with mine the other day, it did not want to shut properly, think the cap cable tie thing was trying to get in the way of the release. Certainly had an issue releasing the cable on my ZS years ago so am always careful where it fits back into the car. Evora manual refers to an emergency way of getting the filler open, but involves removing the rear wheel arch liner and road wheel.
  5. I intend to 'accidentally' drive in to Exeter next Saturday and drop in, to see what has happened. I think the actual removal of the Lotus stock may be a bit later. They still have 3 Emira's waiting parts. in their workshop, so I don't know how they will deal with that. I was told a story in that they went to get a couple of tanks of petrol for the stock performance cars and they went in the demo Eletre, however one of the cans had a slight split, so the electric Lotus now smells of petrol - could be an opportunity for a new sort of air freshener for petrol heads who have ended up with an EV. Maybe I can happen to be passing if a contractor is taking down some signs.......
  6. Don't know if this helps: http://www.lotusdriversguide.com/Genealogy/Sunbeam.php and https://www.asoc.co.uk/articles/sunbeam-lotus looks to have some interesting history.
  7. No, have been in touch with Lotus myself. The guys at Hendy are not sure what is going on, their Hendy performance stock is getting picked up next week, they are still having customers in/potential customers for test drives etc and you can still book via the Lotus booking site. Don't know what is happening to the Lotus stock as some is owned by Hendy and the rest Lotus. I suspect that Lotus wanted them to improve their site facilities etc and Hendy were not keen to spend loads of dosh. The Exeter site is a bit rubbish, just tagged on the side of Honda, with a small access road and other businesses also nearby. There is a load of the new Lotus vehicles on the horizon, not like back in the early 2000's when London Lotus closed. So you would think the future would be good. @mayevora, @Markindevon and @MPx are all aware. I spoke with the Lotus guys at the big Exeter performance show that was held 2 weeks ago. Lotus had the most obvious presence there, you would hardly have known that Porsche and McLaren had a dealer in the show.
  8. Been in to Lotus Exeter this morning and a notice says it's closing next week. They are still doing test drives etc.
  9. If I drive to somewhere like Sainsbury's I always park well away and walk the extra few yards in the MGs, wife complains. But then if she takes her car, she parks nearer to the entrance and then comes back to her car and finds someone parked near her, she complains anyway. Particularly if as you say it makes it more difficult getting in the car or backing out etc. If I take the Evora anywhere - eg Wickes /Toolstation I will park next to a shrubbery / wall/ tree and still leave about a 3rd of a car gap.
  10. All publicity for their brand.
  11. Oh no - not again the Max show is on again this weekend. At least I won't have to bother with getting up in the middle of the night this year.
  12. Would have thought they would have had all that done by the time they signed off the car for production with production parts. Do you reckon Eletre and other models built in China will end up having Lotus part numbers?
  13. I suppose we can start to blame heavy EV's. happening down our way as well, so the councils should get more council tax, but then there is not enough spare capacity in the council services/GP's, hospitals, schools and other public services, electricity, drains, water..... - got a bit off topic here.
  14. Yes I think the same, potholes being poorly patch up and then fail shortly after again. There s a junction at the Exeter end of Tedburn Road, was very bad a few months ago, they spent some time repairing it and already needs doing again. ( Ian you must know where I mean) Even when they have been repaired they often seem to omit painting the suitable white/yellow lines. Was watching the film 4th protocol (again) the other day, was a scene in a side road and I thought how good the roads looked - with no potholes to be seen.
  15. Now can I think why I don't like Emira part numbers......oh yes I remember - they have lost their DNA.
  16. At least us older folks who are mortgage free and have savings etc are getting a better (but still not great) return on some investments. Does put my tax bill up though. Can remember the higher rates in the past, so those who maxed out in recent times with a huge mortgage at a low APR, should have been mindful that rates would be likely to go up from the abnormally low figures.
  17. For me it was the launch of the wedge Elite, just had to have one - awesome shape, bought it from the dealer in Chelsea, without even driving it - or indeed had not driven any Lotus up to that point. (did not even drive on the test drive!) The only Lotus I had ever been out in before, was an early S2 Europa, the guy threw it around some streets in High Wycombe.
  18. See there is now a more complete list, and mention of Lotus Coventry which is XL motors accident repair centre. So the entries that say service centres may just be the approved body shops?
  19. https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/bentley-performs-u-turn-on-pledge-to-stop-ice-manufacturing-by-2030/299479 Bentley performs U-turn on pledge to stop ICE manufacturing by 2030 Luxury car maker rethinks deadline vow for transition to all-electric Bentley says it’ll maybe make hybrids for ‘one or two years’ more than planned It cites increased demand for hybrids after government postponed 2030 ban Manufacturer also reveals decrease in operating profit for 2023
  20. Yes, that's what I thought had a look at Jardine's web site they do not list Lotus as a manufacturer that they deal with ... yet???? Did seem there were 2 s/h Lotus somewhere. Also can't remember a defunct dealer at that location.
  21. I noticed that yesterday, there seemed to be a new dealer I had not seen before (Lotus Berkshire - which google maps showed a pin for) plus the numbers were wrong and the option to get more dealers was not working. The map was useful as with a quick look you could see the icons change of go and new ones appear. Was in Lotus Exeter yesterday and it seems that they are closing at the end of the month, they are not sure exactly what is going on. But with the chance of no Lotus dealer in the SW then there is no way I would be buying a new Lotus with the nearest dealer being in Bristol or Southampton. Lotus need a presence in the SW if they want to increase the number of cars sold. Jaguar seem to be in a decline these days, (although trying to go more upmarket..) by the end of this year the nearest Jaguar dealer will be in Bristol, with some of the Jaguar dealers recently owned by Carrs Helston garage group and taken over by Vertu, already closed to sales.
  22. When I spoke about it to another Lotus dealer, they thought it was a bit too expensive at 98 and would actually transact around 92. The former owner is a member on here.
  23. Have you tried browsing B&C online parts catalogue. It is a very useful resource. Mentioned here: https://www.lotustalk.com/threads/serpentine-belt-change-na.434313/
  24. Sounds like a sales pitch. My parents never had any - they treated it like gambling.
