  1. Thanks to the contributors here for the advice/process. I've just ordered one directly from Autel in the sale: https://www.autelstore.co.uk/wholesale/autel-maxilink-ml629-diagnostic-tool.html?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0MexBhD3ARIsAEI3WHJN_fH4Jc1NYoQYieHQmMldrsY2825vCTWZw4b3sqMTxP1gIMMkNhEaAm4MEALw_wcB If anyone needs a code clearing and Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire is convenient, let me know.
  2. It turns out the 'chip' was just a bit of sealant/residue which cleaned off fine. A quote is now with Autoglass warranty, hoping they'll do the right thing & give the green light...
  3. Glad your replacement went largely ok Richard, I'm surprised the A pillar trims weren't just a standard part of the job (waiting for these to arrive was the cause of my short delay). To update on my replacement, it was not entirely smooth... The screen itself seems fitted well, as do the rubber seals and the drivers side A pillar trim. However, the passenger side trim is not engaged at the top, it's lower than it should be and is very loose (picture below). Autoglass called me about this straight away explaining they'd tried three times to get it to sit right, with different technicians, and they couldn't do it. I'm now waiting to hear from the warranty side of the insurer and I'm expecting them to cover the work required to correctly fit a new trim piece. I drove the car immediately from Autoglass to Allon White for them to provide a quote for this. As I was writing this, I noticed what appears to be a new chip on the edge of the roof. I'm asking Allon White to confirm this (the car is with them) and provide a quote for fixing this as well! The debacle continues.... at least the screen itself seems to be fitted well.
  4. Thanks Justin, will take plenty of pics. If I'd had much choice, I'd be taking it to a Lotus specialist. The workshop manual pages are printed & will be going across with the car!
  5. Quick update; Autoglass expect to receive the parts above shortly and I'm booked in for Tuesday, so not too bad in the end (assuming all goes to plan...!)
  6. I can vouch for that. Things were almost perfect at the time of this video - I've since got the ride height sorted out & very happy with how it rides/handles. The MX5 is a good basis for upgrading later, there's a huge aftermarket. I feel like I've found a good sweet spot with the NC2 on MeisterR Zeta CRD coilovers and the BBR 200 kit, sporty but not over the top.
  7. Thanks Bibs, that's promising news. I have spoken to Autoglass but could only get as far as they confirmed the parts had been ordered. I'm awaiting a customer services callback to get their ETA and to see if I can help speed things up with the options you've given, thanks very much
  8. Ah thanks Bibs, your services are greatly appreciated! Part numbers from DeRoure are: F132U4007F TRIM PANEL-A PILLAR L/H F132U4008F TRIM PANEL-A PILLAR R/H C075U6071V Double Sided Foam Tape, 'A' pillar trim to glass
  9. Any joy with the fitting @RichardC? I've just had a call from Autoglass, although they have the screen, apparently the A-pillar trims are on back order. This means the booking this Thursday has been cancelled and I don't have an ETA. Is there a way to find the estimated wait time on these trims? (I would normally just wait quietly & patiently, but I have some filming lined up with the Evora soon..)
  10. From what I can make out from this thread and how the diagrams on DeRoure look, am I correct in thinking there is no difference between pre or post MY12 gear cables in terms of their shape or position at the gear lever end? I.e. you could theoretically fit the gear level mechanism from a pre MY12 into a post MY12, and vice-versa? I ask because I'm considering the new Dolomiti shifter for my MY14, but it has only been tested on standard cables in a 2010 car.
  11. Sorry to hear there's a bit of a wait (for both our sakes!), although not surprising. The stone must've only just cleared the body work. I'm considering perhaps fitting one of those wiper spoiler wings, given lightning has already struck twice..
  12. Thanks for watching 👍 I'd be very temped to release some of that Alfa soundtrack, but agree it's a balancing act with refinement. I added an extra silencer to the Evora's /2bular system for that reason. To borrow a comment from a recent JayEmm video, I think Lotus folk are an open minded bunch and I'm not surprised to see lots of appreciation for the MX5
  13. Interesting thread, I currently own an NC2, and have had a few mk1 & mk3 over the years. I was lucky enough to be able to keep it alongside the Evora when that arrived. Looking back I think it was inevitable I'd get a Lotus eventually - similar philosophy & somehow making every journey an 'event'. Heres one of my earlier attempts at filming cars, after the BBR upgrades..
  14. There seems to be something going around.. noticed a huge crack today & no idea how it got there. I'll be taking it to Autoglass in Cardington, near Bedford when I hear back about availability, and have already printed the workshop guide pages to take with me 😆
