  1. <begins search for decent Mk1 Granada>
  2. Coincidentally and tragically, said Son-in-Law's mother had a minor medical issue 3 years ago, was admitted, caught COVID on the ward and died.
  3. My 11yo granddaughter had not a single thought in her head about gender transition until the school went to great lengths to ram it down the kids' throats that it was OK to be trans. Thereafter she spent a few months wanting to be trans, until she realised that she didn't. Meanwhile one of her class decided she was trans, and insisted on new pronouns. Amber failed to use them and got into trouble for it. The power of suggestion.
  4. I had a fascinating chat with my Son-in-Law t'other day. He's a hands-on manager in a London hospital - a battlefield officer, one might argue. He was telling me about all the wonderful advances - including AI - that are helping keep people alive. I asked him if he really thought that is a good thing, given the bulk of these people (let's be honest here, I can say this because I'm more or less one of them) are no longer useful to the species. In fact, by his own admission, many of them can no longer communicate or demonstrate awareness of their surroundings. I certainly don't want to get to that stage, but we're not allowed to consider alternatives in this country. Yet. I think the message here is that everyone can see good emanating within their own experience and scope, and not enough attention is being paid to the macro effects of constant growth/continuous improvement etc. No other species expends so much time and resource on keeping its old/infirm alive. It's fundamental to long-term survival. In other news, the hospital radiologists are now required to ask all patients, regardless of gender, if they think they might be pregnant.
  5. Dunno, but I'm forced to endure at least half a dozen a year.
  6. IT by Fujitsu, perchance?
  7. Antigua looms...
  8. Your above remains ambiguous. Had your question been "are the valves for cylinder 1 closed?" then this would have been a much shorter conversation. Is that what you meant?
  9. Ok. NO. Absolutely not. DO NOT TURN THE CAMSHAFTS OR CRANKSHAFT IF NO BELT IS FITTED. Find someone who understands internal combustion engines and their firing sequences, or use Google. This is not Lotus-specific; it involves an elementary knowledge of engines which you clearly don't possess. Only when you understand the basics should you go near that engine. Clear enough?

I've heard refraction turns you into a vegan and a Just Stop Oil protester. And a friend said it can also change your gender.
  11. I'm deadly serious. You've demonstrated that any explanation could lead you to misunderstand and damage your engine. Google how an internal combustion engine works, then come back. BTW if you want me to come to Botswana and fix it, just pay up and I will. It's what I do.
  12. With respect, if that's your level of understanding, walk away and find someone knowledgeable before you break your engine.

    Obviously a chemtrail.
  14. For me: range anxiety, hassle of recharging downroute, battery longevity. All adds up to a low-convenience vehicle that, in a few years, will depreciate so much that it will just need throwing away - much earlier than would an ICE. Anyhow, that's what they really want, as they care less about the environment than profits. As things currently stand, they will have to drag me kicking and screaming into an EV.
  15. I applied G-force via the loud pedal; it fell out. I can't be held to account for Margate Exotics' shoddy workmanship.
  16. You were probably watching Mamma Mia on a loop.
  17. Oh yes, some very strong Force in that movie.
