  1. The QDM-B error is probably due to the ignition being turned off and therefore not relevant. Note that the 'CL' LED does not indicate that the fuelling is being controlled in closed loop mode, merely that closed loop mode is permitted if the appropriate conditions are met. I believe the stalling is caused by the 'CL Correction Term' value dropping significantly, possibly to a zero value from that screenshot. This big question is, naturally, why is that happening.
  2. The spark advance rises to the value set by the 'Spark Reference Angle' parameter (74.9 degrees) because the engine speed dropped low enough to revert to EST Bypass mode where the ignition module determines the spark advance and remains there when the engine stalls.
  3. You say this is a cold start problem but the Espritmon screenshot shows a warm start, which is correct? Also, have you figured out which quad driver circuit is causing the QDM-B fault?
  4. You need to adjust the length of the rod ends on the cables so that there is no preload on the cables when the transmission is in neutral and the gear lever is vertical (when viewed from behind) and it's spring has it in the 3rd / 4th gear plane position.
  5. The oil may be the cause of the problem, Fuchs say it is not recommended for synchromesh transmissions. Also, its Viscosity Index is pretty low compared to TAF-X and Syntrans Transaxle 75W-90 (147 vs 210 and 195 respectively). Are you sure there is no preload on the cables?
  6. Does double de-clutching on the upshift make any difference to the gear change? Also, what oil are you running in it?
  7. Check that the 5th gear nut or secondary shaft nut hasn't worked loose.
  8. Chicago's most violent day in 60 years and some idiots want to get rid of the police: https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2020/6/8/21281998/chicago-violence-murder-history-homicide-police-crime
  9. The CEL being illuminated prevents boost control being enabled. Your friend can use Espritmon Mode 4 to activate some of the QDM circuits covered by QDM fault B.
  10. Clear as mud. I say this because there is already a Transmax Manual Transaxle 75W90 oil and it is different to the Syntrans Transaxle 75W90 oil https://msdspds.castrol.com/bpglis/FusionPDS.nsf/Files/0378E448F62362F2802582CF002C3017/$File/BPXE-B2XKK9.pdf Good work an taking the time to investigate though.
  11. The V8 bellhousings are different to the 4 cylinder housings.
  12. The part number changed when they introduced the 'high torque' transmission that has the translator on the right hand side so I suspect there is a difference. Whether this prevents them from being interchangeable I do not know.
  13. Have the front lower wishbones been galvanised? If so, were the galvanisers confident any distortion would be minimal? I was going to paint my wishbones but may reconsider this if galvanising works OK for them.
  14. Thanks, a smidgen lighter and shorter than Garry Kemp's followers (48.5 +/- 0.5 grams and 25 mm).
  15. How much do the Arrow cam followers weigh and what is their skirt length?
  16. I am very doubtful that failure of the secondary fuel pump will result in the fuel trims being off. My reasoning being is that the fuel trim is based upon the narrowband lambda sensor feedback and when the secondary fuel pump is in operation I would expect the ECU to be in open loop fuelling and the desired A/F ratio to be far richer than the stoichiometric ratio.
  17. I recommend getting the rubber boots for the translator ball joints, they will lengthen the life of the joints.
  18. The gear lever raking back 7.5 degrees is for transmissions with the translator on the left hand side. For transmissions with the translator on the right hand side the gear lever rakes to the right (no angle or dimension is given). I just offset the gear lever slightly using a piece of plywood with a slot cut in it to hold it in the spot where the lever centering spring neutral position is.
  19. Yes, you can use powder bound chopped strand matting with epoxy resin.
  20. Chopped strand mat uses a resin binder than requires the styrene in polyester and vinyl ester resins to dissolve it. If you want to use epoxy resin you should be using cloth reinforcement.
  21. According to the French government and Public Health France the new infection and death rates for those two dates were: 18th May - 358 new cases and 131 new deaths 11th May - 453 new cases and 263 new deaths
  22. The WHO state the incubation period is on average 5 - 6 days but can take up to 14 days. It is also generally accepted that publicly reported cases may over represent severe cases and therefore the incubation period for which may differ from that of mild cases. I ask you this, examine who is claiming there is a spike. Look at the infection rates and monitoring undertaken before the return to school and see if you come to the same conclusion.
