Headlamp Upgrade

has anyone upgraded their headlights.......

on the illumination front that is........

I want more light and while Ive got the pods out and in bits while the car is painted I thought id be an ideal opportunity 

any thoughts on these???

I used Crystal 7" Halogen Head lights, even with standard H4 bulbs they give a marked ugrade.

[EXCEL V8]

7" LED versions are available as well.

Ignoring the legality (see DoT guidelines on retrofitting HIDs), I'd say out of courtesy to other road users don't do it as the beam pattern is determined by the glass lens of the headlamp and those old reflector beams are pretty poor. That means there's a lot of light that goes above the desired cut-off line and so dazzles oncoming road users. That's not a problem with projector lamps where there's a fairly high quality lens directing the light.

I dont mind what the 'bulb' is...........Id just like to be able to see more..........

happy to go with anything.........just dont want to over load the original system so something brighter but that takes less power to do it is what Im after.....

Yes, that looks like the one, but it’s worth giving them a call first to make sure before taking the plunge. I found they were really helpful, their bulbs are 1st class (unlike some of the other eBay shite I’d seen), and I was so impressed, I ended up fitting their LED’s in all the remaining lamp units. Night time power consumption has dropped dramatically.
