Evora Launch Edition Register

Hi! Starlight black with paprika interior. Build 239 for Japan, now lives in New Zealand. So far replaced the crap Japanese market alpine with a better alpine with CarPlay, fixed the factory subwoofer and took out the 3rd cat. I’ve also replaced a bunch of parts it was missing when I got it. 

Build date 01/10/2009

First registration x/08/2010

You need to post some close up photos. Starlight Black looks awesome in the right light. North or South Island?

My first Evora was a Silver LE with an Oyster interior, AU59DRX, noticed its not on the list, I was wondering whether the owner is not on the Forum or whether the reg has been changed.

Looks like there is another Launch Edition for sale on Pistonheads that isn't on the list; WX59CHL.

Sister car WX59CHZ, which is already on  the list has just been sold - the previous owner has posted a video on Facebook of the new owner driving it away.

Hello Dave,

I've just bought WX59CHL from the Pistonheads ad above..  Just for the accuracy of the register, the external colour is storm titanium and the interior is chestnut. (chestnut not that popular then 😄)

There's another development car you can add to your list - AU09 CYV with Oyster interior. It was at Snetterton 14th June 2009 at the Lotus day...

oh ..   and there was this.  It went round quicker than some race cars ..s ....

What are the badges on the dash? Can you post a photo?

The launch edition cars had the 'Evora' logo on the dashboard, in front of the passenger. You can see it on this photo if you zoom in, its the same logo as on the back of the car.

OK, thanks. I've got that on mine (photo is my car) but I read somewhere that it said "Launch Edition" was on the dash.. obviously that was incorrect. When you wrote "Has the badges on the sill and dash as others have mentioned." thought you meant sill and dash were the same....

Ah, no, probably poorly worded. There's a 'Launch Edition' plaque on the door sill, and the Evora logo on the dash.

Hi Dave,

My Evora is 4th on your list (AU09 EJZ)

It's original colour off the production line was grey as stated in your list and it had a cameo appearance in a dodgy 2011 film called "Swinging with the Finkels"

Hethel then used the car for promotional purposes and factory resprayed it A19 copper fire (or nearest match Honda Dakota Bronze) in order to mock it up as per the Lotus Esprit in For Your Eyes Only. It then went to Cortina in Italy and Chamonix in France for filming. I believe the intention was to try and get the Lotus brand back into James Bond movies (Skyfall 2012) but this never materialised and we saw the return of the lovely Aston Martin DB5

Incidentally, there are no LE plaques on the sills or dash. My thoughts are they were removed when they did the respray and never replaced
