Where to buy 410 tyres?

Recommended Posts

I fitted MPS4S to my Evora 410 to replace the Cup2's. Living in Scotland I just found the Cup 2's bloody scary on damp/wet cold roads.  Below around 5c they were bloody treacherous to be honest and I was just shitting myself.  Maybe my sphincter is just too sensitive!

However, on warm dry roads, the CUP2's were immense but as my 410 is a "road car" I was happy to forgo the "ultimate" performance of the Cup2's and have not been disappointed to date.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

410 is a lot of tyres. I guess if you put 2 rears on now you won’t need to worry too much about wearing them out quickly, with another 408 remaining in storage. 🤠

Agreed.  I picked up the car from a service and came home in a snow shower.  Even though the snow melted pretty much straight away the car was over steering at 20 mph no matter how careful I was with the throttle. Defo buttock clenching!

Whenever I see this thread I wonder why you need so many tyres!

If I have a 430 do I need more than 410 tyres, I now have 2 sets.

The new BMW fit MPS4S might be the answer

That would only work if the new M3/M4 had exactly the same size tyres as the Evora (19/20”).

Unfortunately, they don’t. 🙁

Yes it looks like you can only get the rears in the new compound but hopefully this will pull through to other sizes when the MPS5S comes along.  I think the M2 runs the same rubber as 410 fronts?

Just switched to MPS Cup 2 Connect (for track mainly) which is a new tyre that came out last year. First impressions are that it gives a bit more feel. You can also feel it hunting cambers and ruts. Stiffer sidewalls so more bumps are transmitted to type cabin. And unsurprisingly the wet performance is noticeably worse.  Now the ‘old’ MPS4S on a separate set of wheels for daily use.

Just adding to the knowledge bank regarding tyres.  I am currently running Pirelli Corsas at the rear (to use them up rather than bin) and MPS4S at the front.  The Michelins are way better in all conditions but the Pirelli seems more sensitive to the cold. I keep getting unexpected oversteer moments as the rear lets go without warning as the front tyres/steering tells me there is enough grip.  Whilst it makes for ‘interesting’ driving it does underline that Michelins are the way to go
