Car started miss firing got it home and wouldn't start. Found orange wire with black stripe pulled out of the wiring harness plug going into the ECU not sure which hole it needs to go back into. I'm thinking this is problem.IMG_20231104_124828474.jpg.e18181ee6ff08bf9f7219a927e60daaa.jpgIMG_20231104_124908283.jpg.931ee2338cda4517ec24ae5cb8940106.jpg

I've had a look at the wiring diagram, which confirmed my thought: there is a OB wire for the speedo signal, that isn't connected on the SE as those still have a mechanical speedo. That's your lose wire and doesn't explain your problems.

I think you need to be methodical about this and do the basic checks: is there fuel and pressure? Do you get spark?

Do keep us posted!

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

Sailorbob, I'll look at C3 on green plug, but I think my wire is orange with a black stripe. I'll let you know what I find thanks JP

Filip, I have fuel and pressure. But haven't checked for spark yet. I'll check that. When I ran freescan my check engine light had a couple codes knock sensor, Throttle position sensor, speed sensor. All three are verified as plugged in. I'll keep you posted thanks for your help . Jim

If several sensors are giving errors, I'd look at earth connections. Though non of those 3 would account for the not starting. My bet is still on spark. A wise old mechanic once told me "it's always ignition, even when it can't be, it's always ignition". 🙂
