Exhaust on the cheap options.

Has anyone cut open an original N/A exhaust to see where the internal baffles and pipes run? I can see the inside mine the twin pipes disappear and bend right  with one higher than the other. After that who knows? I wondered if it was possible to modify an original silencer rather than spending Monopoly money on new systems. Anyone got a scrap one to cut up? Just a thought as I don’t have big budgets like some.

There's a valved S exhaust for £100 on Facebook marketplace I think I spotted earlier today. Mate had one on his NA years ago, it definitely improved the sound.

I cut mine open and removed the internal parts so it was more of a free flow , worked a treat and sounds great !

Any pictures of the inside? That's what I was thinking of doing as I can't justify new exhaust prices. Did the metal weld up again ok? Stainless wire?

Has anyone got an old original 2009/10 quiet exhaust they would donate to science and I'll cut it up and post the results? Bypassing some of the internals is probably all it needs to get a good sounding system. I cant justify the £1000 - £5000 price tag for a aftermarket systems.

Worth speaking to one of the specialists - I know Craig Moncrieff up here in Scotland tends to have oem back boxes, headers etc in the workshop following the fitting of upgrades. They are likely to have what you want, and might let it go cheap.
