Fitting Evora GT410 bumper to an S

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I was just wondering, can newer OEM body parts such as the front bumper from a GT410/430 be fitted to a S1 Evora?

I love my car but the one area I do struggle with in the looks department is the front and I quite like the later gt410 bumper style. But would fitting one be an expensive nightmare? I know there are some aftermarket options but they aren’t a 100% match to the OEM bumper and I’d want to use all OEM parts.

Any info on if this is possible would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Trev

Yes, it can be done.

First port of call, look at the diagrams (includes all parts including washers!!!) on DeRoure.

It will give you everything you need in terms of the parts numbers, and prices for each part.

I warn you, it will not be cheap, however, once you have a list of all the parts forward it to @Bibs as he can get you a discount, through the TLF shop, on the parts. 10%, iirc which will be significant and a great TLF members benefit.

Remember to budget for painting the bumpers too.

Yes, it is possible.

But once you’ve factored in the price of all the parts (there are a lot more than you might initially imagine), labour and then paint, it will probably cost you over £5k.

Just give it time; the looks will grow on you the more you enjoy driving it.

I mean, if people can buy modern BMWs (iX, for instance - OMG), your problems are minor

I assume you've considered other options to make the front (a little) more agressive? I've never seen on in the flesh, but I was thinking of something like the hethelsport splitter ?

He answered that question in the OP. But I do think that splitter looks great!

Yeah, I assumed that comment was in relation to full aftermarket alternative bumpers vs OEM, as opposed to something "bolt onto existing", but fair enough.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I think OEM bumper option is a non starter. I did find a bumper for sale but having looked at the diagrams I think there will be a whole host of additional parts needed to make it fit and so it wouldn't be cost effective. As for other bolt on options, it's something I've looked at. The car did have a two piece splitter setup when I bought it but they were faded and I wasn't sure I liked them so I removed them. I did consider either a splitter from GRP or Hethelsport.

Here is picture of my car with the old splitters on which I still have in the garage.

Here is another car with the GRP front splitter on. I think I'd go gloss black rather than Carbon.

Neither change the overall look of the car as much as the new GT410/430 bumper though so I thought I'd just ask to see what's possible.

The aftermarket GT410 bumper is actually very good quality and is a direct fit. You may want to look at it more closely. Personally I'd add the splitter from the bottom photo in gloss black - it's half the price of the carbon one too.

As a US owner, I've done the 410/430 bumper swap on my 400 but fortunately found a bumper that had all the carbon pieces and most of the grilles as we don't have any 410/430s here. I did purchase the remaining ducts, it was pricey but my buddy did the swap on his and bought all his parts new, it cost him near 8k GBP or so, so it is fairly pricey. In my opinion, the aftermarket options, while acceptable imitations and look fine to the unaware, just look awkward to me personally but they are a great option.

The only thing I did not swap was the carbon fibre center duct, which is over 2k for just a duct which is absurd in my opinion for just a duct vs just keeping it plastic. I physically trimmed my 400 duct to make the bumper fit (which you would have to do as well to fit on an S I'd imagine. I was wondering if anyone is aware of a plastic/alternate duct for the 410/430 that would work.

Do you have any pictures of how your new bumper looks? I’ve just been costing every single part I need including bolts, ducts etc and looking at around £3200 to do the conversion minus painting. The one part I’m struggling with is the centre duct but otherwise I think I can get everything else. I’m tempted to give this a go.

Yeah looks as a regular 410/430 bumper would, although I would study the diagrams alot closer for the S conversion...I'm not sure if the cooling/radiators are in the same exact positions as the S2 400+ models, this might cause fitment issues as I've heard the placement isn't the exact same because folks have tried swapping aftermarket bumpers onto the S1 models but I may be wrong (may require a ton of headache with trimming and refitting parts and more money).

I'd also recommend doing the rear end as well as it'll complete the look.

Had to remove the clamshell as well to replace the eggcrate grilles.

Unfortunately for me, i may have not trimmed enough because the center mesh grille almost makes contact with the trimmed ducting behind, a giant rock just ripped a hole in the grille so I'll need a new one (my theory is it might have survived if it wasn't contacting the duct), but it was a used grille and fairly brittle to the touch...I might consider getting the duct for while Im replacing the grille.

Super useful info. I’ll look a bit closer at the radiator location on the diagrams. Did you have any issues with the undertray as I know the gt430 has a unique undertray so again wasn’t sure if this might cause some fitment issues with how the bumper mounts.

The car looks stunning btw. I do really like the 410/430 style bumper.

Yes the undertray is very different, you'll need that as well. I'm not sure where you're getting 3k from unless you're getting used parts, you'll need the bumper, the 3 radiator ducts + grilles, sealing foam, carbon bumper ducts, DRL harnesses, and the undertray + hardware. Here is a list below provided by B&C...it is nearly 8-9k new:
