I think the government is stuffed with its wish to get early retirees back to work.   4 guys I know my age (mid 50s) are all early retired. None would go back for any amount of wages.  All have worked and planned for this and none of us regret it.

@PaulCP and @mdw great to hear your stories (obviously not the diagnosis Paul). I've been itching to retire since I was 55 two years ago. Not quite ready (so my wife tells me - what she means is that she is not quite ready lol) but won't be long. I've done my maths and I need around a third of my current gross salary to have a hopefully long and happy retirement and still be able to do the things I want to do.

We have a saying: one should work to live, not live to work. 😉

Retirement is still some way of for me, but I do try to change the balance in my life a bit, doing less work (on customers' cars) and more driving and traveling etc.

If you ask yourself the question, you probably know the answer. So if you feel you can retire early or even just cut back a bit, go for it and enjoy life to the fullest!

But, in the end, neither party could have the pudding since, in reality, they didn't eat their meat. Because, of course, "how can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat!" :D

What's the difference between draught and keg? I thought a keg was always used with a tap? Always eager to learn about beers!

Draught will be in a pressured container (err, a keg aka a firkin which is 72 pints) in the cellar and served via a pumped tap at the bar. Keg beer will be in a tapped keg behind the bar and is just gravity fed straight into your glass. Draught beers are usually the pubs regular beers and kegs will be the guest beers.

I thought it was something like that. Over here, all kegs are tapped under pressure with CO2 (not hand pumped like I've seen in some British pubs and which seems to taste even better!). I've never seen or heard of a keg tapped purely with gravity. I don't think that would suit our local beers, which is probably why it's not done.

I'll make sure to bring up this info next time I'm at a bar. 😄
