wedding anniversary today for us and the dear wife has arranged for a vineyard tour and wine tasting !!! 😁 (dunno what she's doing tho)

Have  a great time there @windymiller, I had to drop off and collect some friends who did a similar thing a couple of weekends ago, at Bramerton. they loved it, and loved the wine.

A friend helping with gardening, using a little low torch to scorch weeds, and set fire to a fence. Put out in a minute or two but not before it ripped up most of the fence panel. It was next to one of the Lotus cars.

so an official looking letter turned up today and im thinking what now ?? 🙄 but it was my daughters school writing to us to say she's worked so hard she's one an award and that due to covid we cant go watch her pick it up lol !!! im never bothered by exam marks for the kids only that they have tried their very best, dont feel you can ask anymore than that !!! (proud dad today 😁)

Running a blog series at the moment at work on 'Demystifying Electromagnetics' (we provide simulation software to model this kind of stuff, and fluids, thermal, stress etc.). Very happy to have at last been able to include something Lotus oriented after having picked up a spare Relay from @Barrykearley  so as to try to explain its operation (not sure for what circuit though, anyone know?). Drove the Evora today, 16 months (and 1 day) since it was last on the road.

I may have cursed it many times these past few weeks when I've been struggling with every nut and bolt underneath being rusted solid, but the first full-throttle, low gear exit from a roundabout had me grinning like my face was about to split and all was forgiven, .

A couple of days from now though I may well be posting in the 'Unhappy' thread - my journey today was to leave it at the local indy (Craig Moncrieff) for last year's missed service, this year's belated service, a post lay-up general check-over and of course an MOT. I might not be grinning quite so much when I'm handed the final bill for that lot, .

I was gutted. Fair play to Quins though. Wonder what odds you could have got on Harlequins to win the final at half-time in the Bears semi. Both games were a fantastic spectacle and a credit to all players involved.

Well yesterday actually

Went for a coffee in our village and saw a young bloke pull into the one and only disabled car parking bay despite there being others available (including etc one next to where he parked). No blue badge  - clearly couldn't give a **** as long as he didn't have to walk and extra meter to Costa.

I walked passed the coffee shop and saw him inside trying to use his jumper to cover his mouth as he didn't have a mask. I thought, as you do, about telling him not to park in the disabled bay when I suddenly saw two traffic wardens walking towards his car. They duly ticketed his car whilst I waited to see his reaction - it was priceless, made my day.

I really do hate selfish twats like this guy. There really is just no need for it.

What made me happy today. Finally getting to the end of a long protracted rebuild on an SE which had loads of historical faults. I wont o into detail, but previous professional garages had made several bodged jobs to get his car running. The worst being welding 17mm of a bolt onto the slave clutch cylinder to try and get more life out of the clutch, or just to get it too work. This resulted in causing further damage to other components. All this just started as Covid hit which meant major delays as I was stuck overseas for months at a time.

Anyway. LotusRescue has completed the work and she is going home to her owner tomorrow if all goes well. Wash, polish and clean up first.

Me a happy bunny as I get my ramp back. The owner a happy bunny as he gets his car back with a functional clutch for the 1st time since he purchased the car. 

And I can move on to the next project which also means restoration work on own my S3 turbo gets a step closer.

Old girl passed her MoT today - albeit with running carb tuning to reduce HC from ~2800 ppm to below 1200 ppm. Great service from the MoT garage 👏
