Did anybody know how the get some of these alloys? Lotus does not deliever this Rims bei ordering a new 400.

thx

They do look superb dont they! B-)

As stated already - some alloy places will diamond cut, but the finish is generally weak.

I'm sure a goid refurb place could give a similar, but still robust finish for a fraction of the cost though.

I had the alloys on my previous car done in "smoked chrome" at The Wheel Specialist. This is

- powder coat black

- hand spray with silver "face on" only

- powder clear coat

Wheels need to be done as a full set, and you can obviously vary the effect with more/less paint and/or masking areas off. Leaves the sides of the spokes and rim black.

It was always very hard to get a pic to do them justice....

Beautiful looking Evora. Great colour and pictures. Welcome back! ;)

Welcome back home Colin, Nice colour combo.  Always better in the flesh than on photos for some reason.  Remember to pop over to the LEGS section (Jockenese) in the Regional part and say hello.  May see you out at one of our meets?  Do you wish added to our PM list so you hear about everything on in Scotland?

Cheers,

Al.

@AbeFroman congratulations. I was somewhere in line behind you for that one, but I guess it's happier staying at home in Scotland rather than being dragged to the far southwest. Great pictures btw.

The "clear" ones are actually silver reflectors. They are not lights like your federal ones.

Or put another way, if it were not for our friends on the other side of the pond we wouldn't have the damn awful things on our cars. if I ever have to have the bumpers resprayed I will get them removed and the indents filled.

where can i buy those "clear sidemarker" to replace my 2014 orange/red sidemarker

The clear are used in the UK and other overseas markets - in the US they go with yellow/orange.  Im not sure if its legal to swap them over.  But would be easyto get hold of a UK part and pretty sure they would come out easy enough, so a careful removal and replace should be swift.  Or you could remove them and leave the space blank or get crafty with a knife and add some extra ducting, but careful - you dont want the car to whislte in the wind at high speeds.

Ooh. Ooh. I was on a coach that went across the new bridge in the pics. I remember seeing the old bridge.

"New" as in 1960 opened and now falling apart through rust so a "new new" is due to be opened soon.  Should already have been open, but heh, did you know we have bad weather in Scotland.  Apparently the contractors and SNP didn't at the planning stage........

Not sure if you'd heard Al but apparently new steel is not as durable as old. So whilst the new road bridge ( the third of the Forth) is almost finished it will not be open for another 10 years as they now need to paint all the new steel red with a special paint, like the Forth bridge which actually was the first.  But the good news is that planning on the fourth bridge has started as they don't think the 3rd bridge will last. So the Forth bridge will eventually be renamed the Fourth bridge and will have outlasted the other 3 combined by over 150 years!

Gotta love the public sector....
