They won't do it in Gaza because Israel officially gave Gaza to the Palestinians. Did you watch the video? I think it explains very well that Hamas is the genocidal party here and Israel is defending itself after an attack by them. So yes it's like Russia, but as if they had picked a fight with the USA instead of Ukraine. Hamas=Russia.

I find it hard to accept that Israel is just defending itself when it has slaughtered over 28,000, mostly civilians, is forcing over 1.1m into starvation and has maimed and injured over 80,000. But we can each choose to believe what we want to believe.

As for Israel handing Gaza over to the Palestinians, my best guess is that this is Israel taking a significant chunk of it back. Netanyahu seems intent on "ruling" the whole territory.

We can disagree, without falling out, as we live in a democracy that currently, despite some politicians best intents, allows the freedom of expression and speech.

I have nothing against Israel, or Israelis, except a deep rooted sense of injustice for the way they are operating right now, the suffering and loss they are delivering, and their deliberate withholding of aid to those so desperately in need. As a nation brought about by so much injustice and suffering of their people, you would have thought they'd have taken a more compassionate approach, as opposed to a draconian, destructive, one.

Don't worry not offended. I would prefer to have Yahu and Putin removed from office (the method of which doesn't matter).  Both are using far right tactics and behaving poorly.  Putin is unbalanced with delusions of grandeur whereas Yahu is out for vengeance (approximately thousands of years in the making).  Their paths are same in regard to eliminating all roadblocks in their way to accomplish unachievable and unrealistic goals.  If the USA and other NATO countries fail to stop both of these dictators* (disguised as democracies), then the world continues to head in a sad direction.

Put religion and politics and race aside and you are just left with people. Families. Who want to live life. Make the right memories.

Religion is responsible for more human deaths than anything else.

I personally believe organised religion, the groups that thrive and survive through it (which includes the various christian churches), are bordering on evil. They pray on people to generate wealth and project power for their own good and benefit.

Seven food aid workers killed in Gaza. Israel tells the UN to dismantle the UNrwa relief agency, the one that is responsible for 90% of the aid being circulated, and the Israeli Government has passed a law to allow it to block Al Jazeera (and any others it deems unfit) news teams from Broadcasting. This is the primary source of independent news covering what is happening in Gaza.

This is draconian and in the extreme. If the shoe was on the other foot you could imagine the outrage. The world needs to intervene and stop this. Now.

The calls and protests from within Israel to halt Netanyahu are growing as Israeli's more and more realise he is out of control. He should be held to account like Putin should be.

Israel has every right to defend itself, and its citizens, but this has, in my very humble opinion, gone well beyond that.

You’ve got to wonder whether Hamas really thought this through. After the gleeful hysteria of that attack on 7th October, their very existence and that of their friends, families and neighbours in Gaza is on the line. Probably 33,000 dead so far, many of whom would have been part of that Hamas incursion. Thousands more facing starvation and relying on international aid. Huge swathes of their land reduced to rubble. Infrastructure decimated. Israeli military acting with impunity all across the Gaza Strip. Is that really what Hamas was hoping for? What have they got in return? A few dozen primarily civilian hostages cooped up in a tunnel somewhere? Of course every sensible person knows Netanyahu has gone too far, but Hamas themselves gave him this opportunity.

You are 100% correct @LotusLeftLotusRight, Hamas gave Netanyahu the opportunity and the World condemned Hamas for their actions & backed Netanyahu in responding.

However, the sign of a true leader is knowing when to stop and not going too far. Netanyahu went way beyond what was reasonable a long time ago. He has put himself into an impossible situation now, he cannot win!

The issue is they HAVE gone too far. They know that as much as everyone else.

Know what that means? "Well, we might as well finish the job!"

But I would ask you to consider that everyone knows Hamas is deeply entrenched in Gazan society. Even some of the Aid workers there took part in the October attacks and that's been confirmed! The fact they just killed (if you believe them) over 200 Hamas fighters in their Hospital siege/attack shows they still haven't finished the job they set out to do.

But don't believe the hype of Israeli civilians marching demanding they stop, there was only a tiny % of their population at the last one and the majority of their citizens still support wiping Hamas out by any means.

I don't think its over sadly, no matter how much pressure the rest of the world put on them.

On Thursday last week I called my mom to check as she had a virus of some kind. I was greeted by her gasping and me asking if she was ok and could she breathe, to which she said "no".

I turned up about 5 minutes later and she was out of it, grey, gasping for air, so I called 999 ambo and they were there in less than 5 minutes.

Heart failure. Fluid on and around her heart, kidney issues and blood pressure and rate off the chart.

5 days later she is now out of Critical care and in acute care. She still can't breathe without oxygen and though much of the fluid has been shifted there is still some there. But she is now stable, which is amazing.

Though this is what made you unhappy its a mixed post because the Ambulance Paramedics, Resuss Doctors and now Coronary care specialists have all been amazing and have basically saved her life.

Another avoidable death thanks to our judicial system that at times seems to know no bounds as to har far below the standard required to protect citizens is.

Whomever is responsible for this despicable excuse of a human being being let out and about on bail should be prosecuting for aiding this excuse for a man to murder whilst "free".

We need a process where the courts and judiciary can be held to account for their poor decisions and suffer real consequences as a result.

yep but how many times does this sort of thing happen.  As @C8RKH says the system seems to be weak and feeble, send some lawyers to prison. Just like all the cases where those from foreign countries who commit even the small crimes should be just sent packing never to return

Plenty of other countries seem to be able to do it!

Iirc, if I was to get a green card to the US, and then committed a criminal felony act (think that is what they call it) then I'd be kicked right out.

There's too much store given to this human rights crap. Yes, "Alfie" killed someone but we cannot send him back to "whichever country" as his kids have a human right for their father. Well (1) the scumbag should be rotting in prison so no use to his kids and (2) what about the human rights that were snuffed out for the victim, and their families?

This is where all this human rights shite falls down - it's a cashfest for the lawyers and an easy excuse to stop justice being properly served. It's time common sense and decency took over from all this "liberal" shite. Maybe then decent people, in Britain, will be able to walk the streets at any time and feel safe again, as criminals will know there will be real repercussions and justice if they act.

Probation service will say "We have lessons to learn from this and we will". Till next time when they will say the same over and over and over. I thought part of the reason we have Brexit is to "relook" at the EU human Rights bill and adjust it to British Values and laws. Well its about time we did just that! Any....and I mean ANY.... detraction from UK law and they get sent back without a single f*ck given. And I mean things like Assault, Theft, Shoplifting etc.
