I'm in the States but after looking at the choices the official TLF exterior cover looked like the best option for our new 2020 Evora GT. It just arrived today and I immediately installed it on the vehicle. It fits very snugly - actually takes a minute or two to get it sorted - but that's what you want because loose fabric can scuff paint if the wind kicks up.

We went with the blue color, which yields a nicely understated appearance. We also chose the "safety pack" option which puts reflective tape on the corners. One can't be too careful.

The cover is large enough that once properly positioned it's just a few centimeters from the ground all the way around. It's worth a bit of extra care to make sure it doesn't touch during installation.

Highly recommended, even for folks in the US! {grin} A big thank you to Bibs for shepherding our overseas order through the process!

I'm on my 3rd cover for my 3rd Lotus, These are much better than the American offerings and reasonably priced too.

They take about 4 weeks on average but are a little slower at the moment due to workplace social distancing so the factory is at less staff than usual. It won't be too long though, I'd hope within a week :)

With the outdoors covers any issues with rubbing/ damaged paintwork with the wind at all? Is it soft enough inside not to cause damage? I have heard horror stories about paint damage but that is maybe with cheaper quality ones?

cheers Paul

Hi Paul

No issues with rubbing on my S1 Evora ,I replied to this question on FBook the other day actually !

I've had mine a couple of years now .

I always wash & dry the car first then use the bottom 2 straps ( click fit ) Tighten the perimeter strap ,then the following 2 days just nip it up slightly as to get the best fit ,finally padlock it .

In windy weather the cover only pats the car so to speak never seen it slide/rub .

It has a slightly fleecy inside feel to it I'll try to reply with a picture as mine will be covered in the next 2 weeks .

Hope you find the information helpful.

Best regards Paul

I’ve got one of the indoor covers with the soft fleece lining on my Evora and very pleased I am too but err, does anybody know if you can safely  machine wash them?
I needed to sand down a Welsh dresser and as the weather is so cold, decided to do it in the garage. My orbital sander has a collection filter on it which I had assumed was reasonably efficient in collecting all the dust produced.
Don’t think I need go on do I? 🤦😖😁

They are made by Specialised Covers, aren’t they?

If so, THIS IS FOR THE OUTDOOR COVERS:

CLEANING GUIDANCE
We advise, for best results and for the long term benefit of the product, that you use a damp cloth in warm water. See label on the cover for instructions. Allow to dry naturally.
DO NOT CLEAN IN ANY WASHING MACHINE OR DRY CLEAN.

Thanks for the link. It actually says at the bottom:-

“WASHING GUIDANCE
Wash and dry car cover on low heat settings. See label front of cover for full instructions.”

So it looks as though I could shove it in the washer but on a low heat. Think I need to get my in house laundry operative on to the case. I’d probably only do it wrongly and flood the laundry room!😉

I had an outdoor cover and it worked well for a year. But then despite me cleaning the car before putting it on it started to get dust and the inside started to get a little dirty (I couldn't see it myself). After the winter last year I took it off and where the wind had been blowing it my roof and the edges of the body all had rub marks and minute scratches everywhere.

Not used it since.

Put mine on for the first time in months yesterday as it was treated to it’s first wash wax and clean this year. Didn’t know how well it would fit with the new wing now fitted but still stretch’s and fits perfectly in its new painted garage - just the floor to do.

Garage looks very tidy....unlike mine.... I have painted a number of garage floors, but where the car stands it tends to lift, even with some sort of pre sealer. And for some reason the lotus lifts it more than other cars I have in the other garages.
