Ok guy it looks like there is a fair bit of enthusiasm for a meet (obviously subject to date) so I will start looking at venues. This won't be like as organised as the Oxford meets but at a venue with good parking and food. I am going to look towards Milton Keynes so it is not to far from me to be able to inspect and organise so any weblinks/ideas welcome.

It's part of our ongoing Places on our doorstep we have not been to but people travel thousands of miles to see tour.

I'd just say if you are planning MK area then try to avoid a weekend when there is something at Silverstone as the M40/M1 and especially A43 can make for an unenjoyable drive.

Boots wants a day other than a Sunday. For me it makes no difference Saturday or Sunday but have others got a problem with a Saturday?

Went today.

:)

Very, very interesting place but by god do they need money, it's falling apart.

Be great venue if it raised money for them, this place has buildings that are literally 'just' there. They have a very sad looking Harrier that i took the time to look up it's number today to see what it did before it was untidy and dead.

They can host big events, there is a big mansion and it was all set up from a wedding the night before. You could actually do some good if the cause was clear to people as i think most would be up for a day out here and price would not be too much of an issue if it went to keeping it all together.

Pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm for an event like this. It wont be like the Oxford meet as this was well organised and had guest speakers but will be a gathering with catering of some sort in a pleasant location. Still looking for a venue and thanks for the suggestions so far.

If you're still looking for a location, how about the Haynes Motor museum?

Appreciate that it's not exactly central but just been texted by a mate (who is 'working from home' today) who says that it is very good.

They even have a garage on site in case anybody needs their car fixed !
