Looks great!

Although its a Turbo Esprit the interior is S3 style flat leather so guess it has been retrimmed? Looks to be, from the perfect condition.

Dont think many cars were produced with the body-coloured A pillar base but black mirrors/bumpers?

Stunning looking car :) Enjoy it as I am sure you will do.

Wheels look fantastic, but as some others have said, compomotive would compliment this car no end !  You only have to look at Jonnys on here aka The Pits :)

Lets hope the compomotive reproduction wheels thread picks up speed in the near future.

Hi Guys,

Well I finally got round to taking the Esprit out for its first drive yesterday, didn't end well unfortunately :(

All was going well for around 5 miles or so then the clutch seemed to fail, luckily I joined the AA yesterday so they came out pretty quickly and the guy seemed to think that the seal on the slave clutch cylinder had failed as it was leaking fluid, does that make sense? would that be a big job?

I've approached UK Sports Cars to see how they want to handle it as supposedly has a 3 month warranty so we'll see how it all pans out, all part of the fun though, I had a feeling it could be a little troublesome as it hasn't really been driven since the re-build so I think the odd teething issue is to be expected, he says trying to stay positive :-)

Thanks Steve, good to know, we actually have a garage next door, not sure he know's much about Esprit's but I'll pop round to see him shortly to see what he thinks.

Just a reminder I have a full CNC-ready CAD design for the centres of these if anyone wants to do anything with it.

If it's just the slave it's easily accessible and cheap. Replace/ repair, top up and bleed system.

Thanks again Steve, UK Sports Cars have said they will send out a new Slave Cylinder for the garage next door to fit so hopefully they can do that this week as got a car show at Kimbolton I want to take it too this Sunday.

this is the trouble with cars that haven`t been driven. When i first got mine it seemed to break down everytime it went out, always something minor but it did go on for sometime, sorry:driving:

Hi Paul,

Congratulations. I have been looking at the photos on uksportscars website for the last month. I have a project 1985 white turbo esprit the exact same spec as yours and I have been using your photos as inspiration. Just realised I never saved the photos and they're gone now, I might ask for a favour if you could email them to me please!

best of luck with the car

Yes I have kinda resigned myself to the fact that this won't be trouble free motoring but it will be worth it, even broken down she looked stunning :-)

You've definitely got the right attitude for classic car ownership! Hopefully that's an end of it.

Took me a long time to get my car to where it is today.

The joy's and the memories of just getting the car you want and it goes pop. Always frustrating little niggles, get one done and another appears. I did the same with my first S3, but after all her little tantrums she ran like a dream. Looks bloody awesome by the way.

Thanks again guys, at the end of the day she is a keeper so if it takes a while to get her on song then it is all part of the bonding process.

Funny as I never really connected with my LF1 Exige and wasn't really sorry to see it go a couple of weeks ago, maybe I'm just a sucker for a bit of drama but I'm already enjoying owning the Esprit much more :-)

Now I just hope I can get her back on the road in time for our Boys Toys Day II in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Stephen, the Cup is due late August so hope to take it to the Festival at Brands. Managed to twist Lotus's arm to do me a one off in Signature Orange with matching interior so hopefully it will look pretty cool :-)

Beautiful car, black bumpers and side stripes to match the interior B-)

Those gold centred BBS look fine IMHO, save yourself a load of heartache!
