Your recommendations please

Wendy needs a good camera for her artwork as, currently, she uses her phone to post them up on artfinder and her website but she cannot get higher resolution on these and that hampers her ability to enter into competitions, be a featured artist (which requires bigger pictures and being able to zoom in) and sending pictures to potential clients.

The other issue is I am buying it and I only have around £100 as a pressie for our wedding anniversary.

It doesn't need to be a professional Camera but a good one much better than an I phone etc

Install Google Photoscan on her phone, you'll be impressed with the results.

Surely for £100 you can pick up a previous generation DSLR that will be a million times better?

This is the same as my DSLR. Approx 7yrs old now. Pics it gives are light years from a phone image. Clikc

Personally, I wouldn't consider a second-hand DSLR.

And having clicked your link, rather belatedly, I think you'll find contemporary phones will knock a D5000 out of the park!
