Evora GT430

It is a good video, very specialised content that is right up my street. My only gripe @The Pits is the lap times are illusive.

I appreciate there was some short shifting going on, and it is only a track day, so they are not ultimate times. Nevertheless it would be good to know when putting a "battle" video out there.

Watching all his track videos, he seems to be skating on quite thin ice regarding lap timing.

Not at all, as far as I am aware he does not use a lap timer "live" in the car, certainly wasn't when I went out with him at Silverstone on the same day as far as I could see, and he probably didn't strap one into the B&C Exige 430 Cup.

Nothing wrong with getting the stop watch out whilst editing the video at home.

Why does anyone want lap times?

Unless you are a race driver, or are a Lotus PR man lap times are useless in this type of report.

I find it much more interesting to see how a 'normal' driver ( not meaning to diss Mr Pitts driving ability) finds the car differences. It is subjective but I think this vid shows more than any lap times, the difference in 'feel' and atmosphere that the two cars generate.

Look at the right hand side of the instrument console/steering wheel in his Evora. It certain clips, the timer might be running. Like I said, thin ice with certain TDOs.

😏 proper timing gear yes....trip computer stop watch... hardly...but good to know you’re looking out for a infraction of rules rather than watching the videos. Gets like PH more and more on here....

Trevor, are your comments aimed at me or somebody on this forum? Or are you confusing comments made on another forum?

I personally thoroughly enjoy Jonny's videos, I've been a subscriber to his channel for a few years now.

Not at all, just a general observation as sadly it seems Jonny isn't posting any longer possibly due to the constant picking at him. My words not his.

I'll get around to it at some point.

Trevor.

I hope he comes back. I find his video's very informative (I like his "dull" style - not my words! and the fact it is about the car, and the cars feel to him, and not about him being a YT celeb or character.....) . His video in the MSG Evora Sport 410 in the New Forest was directly, along with his PM's in the background which were hugely helpful, instrumental in me spending more money on a 410 Sport than I spent on the house I have lived in for the past 24 years!

To your pint @Bruss and a little tongue in cheek, his videos are all about the cars. I also feel that the GT430 could be the culmination, the pinnacle, of the performance road going Evora's (the GTE still has it for raw looks for me).  I know Hethel may well decide to bring out a GT430.5, or a GT450, but I'm not sure if the design will really move on.

Would they ever do an Evora CUP car?

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Isn’t the GT430 essentially the Cup version of the Evora anyway?

Lots of aero, top spec suspension, top spec brakes, top spec tyres, lightened, baffled sump etc etc

What more could they do? Cage it maybe (but that would only make it heavier...)

STOP right there Andy, I’m not sure I could resist a Cup version.

Trevor.

That's my problem Trevor. If they did I fear I would be selling the house, the wife, the kids and even the supercharged VX220 to pay for one lol....  In fire red of course, to go with the 410 Sport I'd keep for the road. One for the track, one for the road. Life would be a peach and apart from ironing my own shirts not sure i'd miss anything else!    :driving:

Could you imagine, the battery and extinguisher covers on the side, the bigger front splitter, the wing the size of a 747's, the no +2 option, no radio, no cupholders anywhere and the built in roll cage and harnesses and the the gorgeous Motech dash from the 311 race etc....  Ach, I'm just messing with your head as there is no way they would do a GT500 CUP............

I've watched most of Johnnys videos. The 430 vids have been great and far better than any journo videos I've seen to date.  Always people out there who can't help but be negative, jealous and who enjoy critisising. These people you don't want to associate with anyway.

Really enjoyed the video as truly informative vs all the OTT sensational bullshit ones out there.

Would love  to see any of the armchair critics produce something better

Anyone else voting to ban C8RKH? That sort of talk is the stuff of financial nightmares.
