Following the trend, thought it would be easier to post pictures of the car here, along with all the bespoke bits. Should be 1 of 1 for now!

  • A couple of recent pics:

  • Did a short trip couple weeks ago to Stuttgart, Frankfurt and surrounding areas, thought I'd put a couple of pictures up!   Did a quick tour of the Porsche factory, no cameras allowed inside

  • So recently decided to get the car all cleaned up and detailed. Might be slightly pic heavy but some OCD-friendly pics 🙂

Here are pretty much most of the exterior bespoke bits:

1) All stickers on the car were removed. "430 Cup" wording on the rear has been painted (not sticker!) in gold.

2) The "430 Cup" sticker behind the carbon roof panel was removed. Instead, the "430 Cup" wording was enlarged slightly and painted on the side panel.

3) Wheels and spoiler uprights painted in gold.

4) Black and gold front badge and wheel caps.

5) Mirror caps and plinths painted in Motorsport Black.

6) Rear transom painted in Motorsport Black.

7) Fuel filler cap surround painted in gold.

8 ) I've gone for the old style rear "LOTUS" badge in 3D letters (painted in gold).

Will post some pictures of the interior bespoke bits shortly!

Yup they did all the paint except for the wheels. I had those ordered in black, then B&C sent them off to get painted in gold. Sent a spoiler upright along with the wheels to colour match.

I have to say, the factory did a great job on all the bespoke bits 👍

The back of these cars looks so much better colour coded I think they should knock that matt rubbish on the head!

must cause extra work at the paint stage and maybe it's just me but makes the cars look a bit cheap and unfinished?

Back on topic to the OP possibly the best looking Lotus I've ever seen very supercar like

Thanks for the kind words all 👍

Jamie from B&C as well as Scott Walker up at Lotus HQ were of great help. Bounced a few ideas back and forth (through the Lotus Exclusive Programme) but I think we got there in the end.

Great job, and I hope you enjoy the car!

A bit difficult to get a good shot of the alcantara dash, here's one:

Basically completely re-trimmed in alcantara with gold stitching.

And one of the seat back:

Had the Lotus logo and laurel added on in gold stitching instead of the standard logo.

Normally, the interior colour pack would be one colour for the window switch surrounds, HVAC surround, gear surround and harness hoops. I've done the first 3 in Motorsport Black and the harness hoops in gold. Rest of the seat is gold stitching.

Mine's cleaner than that! (and probably lighter 😎)

Jokes aside yours always looked stunning to me 👍

Also available in clean!imageproxy.php?img=&key=f91d8068176956b1Power to weight ratios should be equal.

The black and gold theme is one of the best colour schemes for the Exige. I hadn't expecte the carbon roof to blend in as well as it does, but at least here in Southern France I'm spending most of the time with it off anyway.

Here's a couple of the door panels, essentially design of stitching is based on the 380 and Elise 250 Cup GP Edition, but instead of normal leather, I went with perforated leather:

Must say having seen the one at Central in Black and Gold ( assume yours is same Black ) the colour is Fantastic , although I think yours has the edge with all the personal detailing

Thanks!

That Type 79 (I presume it's same one as they say its the only one in the world) was made for Goodwood to showcase their Exclusive Programme. However, I felt that a lot of the bits were not thought through.. ie. badges are yellow, fuel surround silver, spoiler struts are silver etc etc...

Also a happy "coincidence" that I created mine before this one was thought up!

@Tex Very nice! It's about £200 isn't it? Did you get it directly from the publisher?
