Evora market watch, for discussion and to help those searching!

Lol @Benmac given your car listings they obviously do not recognise a good potential customer when they walk in. I sometimes wonder how these dealers keep going - I mean sales is not that hard if you are diligent etc - I've worked in sales for over 15 years so know a little bit about this. But then obviously not selling cars is a different proposition altogether... :)

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Cheers @theelanman, everything OK with you? Have you still got your M100? Might take you up on that as I've not sat in one for a while; what spec is yours?

Yep @C8RKH, odd. In Oakmere I didn't labour the point that I had owned a few in my time but I did mention it and I was in my QP. With them the odd thing is that their parts guys have always been exceptional; sales side not so much.

I emailed Stratton on Thursday morning, not heard anything back.  I called them lunchtime yesterday and left a message as the requisite sales person was out / busy. Not heard anything.

Says enough! :o

They were no different 15 years ago, thats how i ended up in a VX220 <_<

Wonder if the dealers actually read this stuff on here and take note........ take action ......... or not.........

Just find the attitude incredible, not as if you're wanting to spend 80p on a Mars bar is it!

Well we've had a decent chat now. I was in a bit of a rush to go out so I've left Jonathan with some questions (recalls, gear cables, owner history, seat bolster, that sort of thing) and he's going to find out and call me back tomorrow.

If it does go up for sale, it won't be for any of the reasons you may be thinking. :lol:

Off to Canada earlier than planned?

On the weekend I had a call from Ipswich Ford dealer following up an enquiy I made via their website for a Ford Mustang they had for sale.  I made that enquiry before I bought the 400 as fancied owning one for a few months.   How the hell can you ignore an enquiry for months lol ?

Gorgeous and very special car.... even if I do say so myself :)

Sorry if this has been answered before, but does anyone have a feel for what the spread between price paid by the dealer and price sold by the dealer is?

I may need to sell my car next year, and I'd like to get a feel for what it's worth without formally approaching a dealer or listing it.

My 2013 white manual sr was bought by a dealer last October for 42 and sold to me in November for 45. He said he was going to list it at 47. Essentially they are looking for a 3k premium.

B&C want £4K in every car! So I think it varies, some dealers are willing to get cars in and out quickly, so will reduce the margin in both the p/ex and the new car.

Also depends on what you're buying. If you're looking just to sell to a dealer then they'll want more of a margin in your car.
