Evora market watch, for discussion and to help those searching!

Indeed!

I messaged Joe when I saw his post about selling his Evora earlier in this thread and he was good enough to allow me to deal with him direct on purchasing his car, for which I am very grateful.  He has done the car credit and I did feel a bit guilty driving off this morning.

I know he has a very exciting plan which I hope he gets some luck to get him back into a Lotus sooner rather than later.

Anyone else looking for a car, its worth watching this thread long term.  These don't come up very often and it seems people are waking up to what great cars they are and actually offer astonishing value given what you would pay for an equivalent model from the big boys.

Cheers Neil. I hope you thoroughly enjoy the Evora, you've waited long enough and this ones panned out well for you ?

@Stuno1 Aimee sounded extremely positive about selling mine for a very decent price. She has people waiting for them I believe and with all the hassle taken out of selling and the fact they will insure it for you while its on the forecourt its a no brainer.

Neil just popped up at the right time with mine and I had absolutely no issues selling it to another forum member. It actually worked out mutually beneficial and I got what I wanted and Neil saved a few £££'s on Forecourt prices. Win win all around.

Welcome!

It does seem a universal truth that good examples, rare colours or all-round good Evoras do not tend to hang around for sale. The only times I see a 400 drop below 60 they tend to disappear fairly fast

Had mine a month now and it's such a great car. Feel quite lucky to find one that ticked most boxes and had some extras I wasn't looking for.  The CR box on the motorway for a long drive seems perfectly fine.  Great around the twisty roads.

@CocoPops Someone on here kindly sold me their 350, which I intend to use for the summer , then consider next move ;)

I expect to be back in an Evora 400 , maybe an orange one for a change. You can't beat the cars for the money.

Anyone near Coalville able to view the £20k eBay car and report back?

or should I just buy it now and hope for the best ?

im sure it won't hang around for long at that price!

just spoken to the owner on the phone, seems genuine enough, off to view it on Sunday.

could anyone with more Evora experience than me view it with me ?

I would be really interested in hearing peoples thoughts on why this car hasn't sold for absolutely ages.  Is there anything particularly wrong with this?

It's got the optional extra of squeaky seats?

The metallic orange looks lovely though...

Nothing particularly. I think it may be their demonstrator, they've had it a while, I remember seeing it in March last year. It looked fantastic then, still does now.

Based on experience if you go to Oakmere looking to buy their still-quite-expensive-demonstrator they're very good at up-selling you to a brand new one, so there may be a bit of that going on!

thanks for the replies.  From the look of things, its not the first generation of 400's that had the LOTUS above the sat nav.  Does that have an impact on say build quality? Its the cheapest 400 on the market, and its only a little over 12 months old with all the right spec.

£57950 used or 5050 on a new one that's the issue with new finance.

you could get a factory order for £35k today and £35k in 2 yrs.

thats just one reason...

Can you still get a new Factory Order 400 for £70k? Most of the new ones being advertised are £80k.  At £70k new the 400 IS the bargain performance car of the year when you look at build quality, design, desirability ( e.g. rare) and performance.

At that buying price new ( as opposed to list price that is then inflated to buy a real car for other marques) what really does compete?

OK, I'm not sure on £70k, but the sentiment is the same £38k now? £40k now? Still far less than £57,950 now.
