Evora market watch, for discussion and to help those searching!

All true. I just wonder if the 400 will get to 45k that quickly and if the prices will start to firm up the closer it gets to the sr range prices or if that will negatively impact all the previous models. Be interesting to see.

Stu, it took you about 3,600 days and 27,532 questions on this forum to get into that Evora you have, now you think you may change at some point. This is going to be one long thread! ;)

Speak to Dave at Hangar 111 and he'll make your car an Evora S SR 430 in no time!  vroom vroom.....

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

£45k for an Evora 400 is too my magic price.   Will just have to be patient for another 3 years.   Love the look of the 400 so much better than the series 1 Evoras.  I would consider a £35k S SR but would probably pay the £10k extra for the 400.  If however the difference between these two is greater than £10k then I would probably use my sensible head and "settle" for the S SR.

Can't see that price for the 400 in 3 years personally. It all depends if the prices start to hold for the older cars as the 400's come down. When the 400's get to 55k we will then know what the impact on the s1 cars is and as such if the 400 will hold or all models will reduce in price.

the early cars seem to have hit the £30k mark and stuck.....

you can get LE cars with high miles for a little less but generally it seems that late £20k's to early £30k's is about where the Evora is...

£3~5k more for the S.......

Id tend to agree that the 400 are going to take a while to come down..........only because I think the Evora price stuck about 2 years ago and hasn't really moved...

Really. I just thought they were all in demand due to scarcity of supply. Hey ho. What do I know.

Which ones are they then?  I can only think of one that had a dodgy past that was not clear, and a yellow one that was advertised and priced as an S SR when it wasn't.

I see there is a '59 plate Aquamarine/Oyster Evora LE going through Manheim Auctions in Wimbledon on Friday. Low mileage and only 2 owners but looks like it needs some TLC and hasn't had a service since Jan '13. Also a number of panels look like they've had paint too. Would be interested to see what it goes for.

Any idea of the history on that car? It seems quite odd for a specialist car like a Lotus to go to an auction, I know dealers only tend to send stuff to auction if they think it's not worth bothering retailing. Might not be a dealer car though.

Not a great fan of this type of site (it's got my Evora listed too), but from http://www.ukvehicle.com/AU59AGZ/

"AU59AGZ Lotus Evora 4 V6

AU59 AGZ is a Blue 2009 Lotus Evora 4 V6 with a numberplate first registered in Norwich between September 2009 and February 2010. This Coupe was first used on the road on Thursday 22nd October 2009."

The webpage has the MOT history; for the past two years it's had a nail in the offside rear tyre! :o

Last recorded mileage at MOT was 24,831 miles on 23/10/15 (25769 quoted as current mileage on the auction website). Standard exhaust. Headlights have delamination, the bonnet badge needs replacing and there's a scuff on the nearside of the front bumper. Usual wear issue with the driver's seat bolster plus a mark on the rear seat backrest but nothing that a bit of Scuffmaster couldn't sort out. Scuffs on the O/S rear forged alloys, but I'd expect that.

It's a shame it hasn't been serviced for 2 years but potentially a bargain for somebody willing to sort it.

Watching this one with interest.

I agree, not a great outlet for a seller but good for a buyer. It looks like it's being sold by Money4YourMotors so I assume the previous owner simply got a quick sale. The history looks fine on paper I would just be concerned about crash damage, it's a previous "Lotus Cars" Evora.

Strong pricing for this one:

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lotus/evora/lotus-evora-launch-edition--sports-exhaust--sport-racer-colours--2-2/5548144?v=b

59plate LE, no mention of close ratio box so assume long box.

Too high or indicative of prices levelling out, possibly even rising?

That auction Evora could be a bargain for someone, although given it's "grade 4", which isn't good, I imagine it might have secrets as others have mooted. Depends on the price it goes for I guess. Auctions are tricky too as you never really have time to fully appraise a car in the manner you'd like.

That car looks a bit strongly priced to me @CocoPops - I've seen several "S" cars around that price, I know the NA has its fans but I imagine the vast majority of buyers would not get one if an S was available at their price

I'd say it's a robust price but from the description the dealer sounds like he at least has a clue to what he has there, unlike some others.

Id guess it will change hands for £31k and if so still a lot of car and performance for the price. I don't see the market being flooded so see this as a sign the cars are getting a good reputation for build and longevity and recognition re their drive and performance.

Re the S at the same price, as has been said on so many previous occasions if you want to be picky you'll have a long wait. It's supply and demand and the supply is looooow and the demand constant.

That white LE is the sister car of mine (only two letters away on the original reg). To the best of my knowledge the LEs had the standard gearbox as the close rastio box wasn't an option at the time. Also I beleive production of the LE spec cars ceased around October 2009 after a total of 235 had been built (88 UK Launch Editions ands mine is No 28 of those). My assumption is that a LE with a close ratio box would have had the box retrofitted.

I agree that the pricing is quite strong - along ht same vain as Andy's comment that the seller knows what he's got (and I believe he's a Lotus/VX220 specialist) I wonder if there is some provenance to back that price up like I have (my car is UK customer Evora number 2 by chassis number but not the 2nd Evora delivered to a customer).

I think it's probably helping shift new cars too, I guess when an early NA is 30k, a brand new 400 at "Two easy payments" of 35K might suddenly become tempting

I guess there are still plenty of customers for an NA - it may be that is an excellently preserved example, often hard to tell in pictures

Not strictly true, I know of at least 1 White LE with a Close Ratio box fitted as part of the order... admittedly it was one of the last LEs to be built but it was certainly available as an option.

HTH
