  1. For the manual, do we know if Lotus has resolved the transmission noise at low revs with engine under load ? It used to be awful in my Evora S1 which was used as a daily driver and thus you spent quite a bit of time in that rev range Whereas although it was just as bad in the Exige V6s I had, as they were weekend toys they spent a lot more time higher in the rev range, so less noticeable. Just the fact that for the Emira it’s being positioned as a car you can use daily and a lot of people new to the brand who will not put up with that noise.

    Re spec, as the car is no lightweight, I see no point in further weight saving options. I don’t see it as a track toy so any options related there can go. If it was a daily driver I can see a need for some creature and convenience features However for me it’s a weekend toy and therefore I’m struggling to feel a need for majority of the options. That could be a challenge with an early’ish deposit that would mean a FE at extra cost or slip down the queue for base cars. Hmmmmmm
  4. From memory to get one of the first Alpine A110, I bought the car without access to a test drive. Have no problems with this for the Emira having owned numerous models to date, so know it will be stunning, but can imagine it will hold some new to the marque back. Also similar to other other current Lotus owners, have no interest in all the extra options so FE is going to be a struggle for me personally to justify. Also want orange paint

If the car had been lighter, like the Alpine I had, then the lighter AMG unit would have been obvious choice for me Howver now being a heavier car, I don’t think the weight saving of AMG is relevant for me, so now down to cost. If they were all the same price then V6 Auto as enjoyed that in the Evora 400. If there is a huge difference in price then the AMG unit Challenge for me was I put deposit down a month ago as wanted one of the earlier cars. If the first cars are only V6 with a big price difference that’s going to be a dilemma First world problems hey 🤪
  6. Anyone else struggling with this working on an iPad ? Worked for first few mins after car launch but since then lots of spinning yellow circles and then ends up with just interior shot that can’t be changed. Have tried on multiple iPads and all the same. Works better on laptop although I do chuckle that if you change colour of vehicle then change angle view, it goes back to previous colour.

    Surprised if the AMG unit incl gearbox costs Lotus less than the older V6 unit with gearbox. Intrigued what drivetrain will make up the £60k base car.

    Let’s hope some of that extra weight was soundproofing for the transmission noise for v6 manual box when under load at low revs

    Yep my first Evora I used as daily driver had that issue, plus boot leaking lol. Sorted in the end

    Appears first cars will be v6 only. Hmmm was quite happy with thought of base 4 cyl car as daily runner I could leave outside.

    Across the 3 Exige I owned the roof was always off. Hasn’t stopped me putting a deposit down on Emira though, as just see it as another model which happens to be a fixed top. Anyway have the Radical for proper open top motoring
  15. If your budget stretches the GT410 have come down a fair bit now second hand and more chance of normal seats. That would be my choice if I was looking now
  16. Good man. Was tempted myself but a) can’t be doing with trains and tube and b) two toys in garage already. If all,good will be an epic car and down shift with autoblip is laugh out loud. Enjoy.

  18. Same here, loved the red interior in my 400. Black is soooooo boring
  19. Having similar bumpy roads in the Cotswolds where I live , I can say the 2 ways on my previous 380 were fine at legal speeds, but could not cope at higher speeds. Often the car would be air borne. I did play with settings but never found a suitable compromise of ride vs handling. On smooth roads it was epic. My Evora 400 was better suited to fast use on bumpy roads and more comparable to Cayman , but even better IMHO.
  20. Bought an early road registered SR3 just before Xmas. Finely got it out last weekend Much more hardcore than the 2-11 for road use. Yet to take it on track

  22. Even though I have a decent size wing in the garage, I do prefer the wingless 430, as pure class
