  1. Just yawn. Longest and most boring season ever to follow?
  2. Royal Mail at it again. 4 hefty stamp price increases in 2 years. They’d had numerous above inflation increases in the years prior to that anyway. Just like the railway companies. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68447820
  3. I guess that’s more of a final solution, than an answer.
  4. Blimey. I would imagine that the “glamour” of F1 would soon wear thin living in those houses, when faced with the reality of repeated traffic gridlock, filthy weather, year-round noise and thousands of sweaty fans swarming around most weekends. I suppose you could clear off on holiday and rent them out each GP week: that would probably pay your mortgage for a year.
  5. What’s going on outside (left) of the track here?
  6. Definitely trying to attract the Millennial generation to their offices with play time, free food and presumably limitless duvet days. No mention of wanting anyone new to work at Hethel though, you know that place where they actually get their hands dirty and make the things.
  7. To be fair to the Chinese, if they’ve got millions of environmentally friendly EVs, then they need those 1200 coal fed power stations to keep them all charged up! 🤣
  8. It’s been for sale there for many years. Maybe the extra publicity might get it sold?
  9. Yeah you were spot on about the banner. Back to the camel’s toe image then.
  10. How does that help the environment? Just moving them from one part of the world to another. Steering wheel’s on the wrong side as well.
  11. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68353627 I switched from standard tariff with EDF to Ovo 1 year contract in early January, ending December 2024. I knew that the cap prices would fall from April, but I decided that it would be too late to wait until then considering how much more energy we use in January, February and March, compared to April onwards. These are the unit prices I pay: Electricity Ovo 25.81p. UK cap now 28.62p. UK cap from April 24p. Standing charge Ovo 35.1p. UK cap from April 60p. Gas Ovo 6.42p. UK cap now 7.42p. UK cap from April 6p. Standing charge Ovo 14.83p. UK cap from April 31p.
  12. There are now more Eletres for sale on AT and PH than Evoras….. I’ve still never seen an Eletre in the wild.
  13. My parents had 3. 1978 red auto coupe, rear-ended and written-off in Kettering town centre. 1979 brown 5 speed coupe. 1981 gold 5 speed convertible, which I used to smoke about in like a young pimp. That one still exists somewhere but has since had a Rover V8 transplant. We later had a red 150bhp TR6, which was much more fun.
  14. We used to get A10s from RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge low overhead all the time in the 1980s. There was a water tower by our village that they seemed to use as a pretend target. After a while, even an aviation enthusiast like myself got bored of looking up at them. Nowadays I’d love to see one buzzing about again.
  15. Can you please remove that Camel banner, There’s something behind it that I would like to take a closer look at.
  16. The NHS burns through that £17m in less than an hour, each day, every day. My question is why are we testing our Trident missiles so infrequently? 8 years since the last effort (failed) seems a ridiculously long time to wait, only for it to fail again. The whole of WWII lasted 6 years, so things need sorting much quicker than this.
  17. The set illustrated doesn’t even show any inch measurements, so it can’t be that old.
  18. Good job it wasn’t a giraffe.
  19. I think they’d snap your arm off.
  20. I paid my local tyre fitter an extra £100 to collect and re-use the original Norfolk air when replacing my tyres. It’s the very least the concours judges expect. 😉
  21. Chris, you can’t draw that conclusion. You’re just assuming that the 22k who didn’t vote at all this time, due to the lower turn out, were all former Conservative voters. There’s no evidence for that. If you pro rata that 44% overall drop in voter turnout to Labour votes, you would expect them to get about 7692 votes this time. What they actually got was 13844 votes, so up 6152, not 107, and far more than Reform’s 3919.
  22. Sorry I really don’t understand your logic. Take Wellingborough for example. Conservatives share of votes down 37.6%. Reform up (from 0%) by 13%. Labour up by 19.5%. So how do you reconcile from those figures that Reform are winning votes from the Conservatives but Labour are not? It doesn’t make any sense.
  23. I read his statement as only Reform Party candidates are winning votes from the Conservatives, not Labour. The data shows that BOTH of these Parties are winning considerable votes off the Conservatives. Rishi’s now stuck between a rock and a hard place, as his share dwindles.
