  1. It's amazing the havoc someone thinks they can wreak on your life if they know you, your business and have the time and motivation to stir up trouble for you. Hopefully the local council have better things to do than add to your problems. Especially if it's adding to or risks inducing any undue stress and 'mental health' issues for you, then they should be backing off and seeing any malicious reports for what they are.
  2. I always keep a map book in the car, just in case. I use Waze on my iPhone for nav, which is great but the problem with Satnav is it's not always easy to see exactly where you actually are in the world or which way to go if the nav insists on sending you down some unsuitable road/track/footpath. Always good to have an analogue backup. Or maybe I'm just clinging onto the 1980s...
  3. I noticed the same on most of the new HGVs on the M1 last week. As there still needs to be an arm on the outside of the vehicle to hold the camera this just seems like pointless tech to me. Unless the screen ‘mirrors’ can do something clever and useful that traditional mirrors can’t?
  4. None taken…🤨
  5. I think that speaker would have been on your face at the first traffic light Grand Prix 🤕
  6. Been to West Sussex..? 🤔 I could rustle up some strangers, the current Mrs H and some gale force winds 👍
  7. I think we're similar here in West Sussex and with the holiday lets and the horses we are, to some extent, tied to the place. We're lucky though to live in a place where people want to come on holiday and with 'The Stables' and 'The Hayloft' holiday lets we get to meet quite a few of them. Only in our second year we've already had a few returning guests so I guess we must be doing something right! Maybe @MPx you'll come and test our plumbing sometime (?) and I'll wait anxiously for feedback...
  8. Well, ducktail or not it's a damn cool thing whichever way you look at it 👍
  9. Thanks for your lovely comments Mark. It makes all our hard work worthwhile when guests really appreciate the effort we've put into creating 'The Hayloft' and 'The Stables'. Hopefully we'll get to welcome some more fellow Lotus owners in the coming year 🤞
  10. Probably just a sticky or seized caliper or slider holding the pads onto the disc. If you're mechanically handy you might be able to free it yourself, otherwise an easy job for a garage. Worst case the caliper might need rebuilding with new seals and/or pistons.
  11. Watched all 8 last week. Typical Guy Ritchie, very entertaining 👍
  12. Sad news that Steve Wright passed away today. A part of my youth has gone, just as it did when Wogan died a few years ago. RIP Wrighty.
  13. Arghh. Maybe next time...
  14. Does nobody (apart from @Escape) go on holiday in the UK any more? Oh well... If you do happen to fancy a few days on the South Coast near to Goodwood etc give us a thought 🙂🐴. We're car/Lotus friendly, obviously! http://airbnb.com/h/the-stables-chidham http://airbnb.com/h/the-hayloft-chidham
  15. Do you play the Lottery..? 🤔
  16. I'm quite handy at building stuff. Not a fan of people though so you'll have to email me your requirements and I'll drop you a reply when it's done. I don't want any of that 'feedback' or 'review' stuff either so if you don't like what I've built keep it to yourself...
  17. +1 for Liza Tarbuck. Can't bear her even as background noise. When Ken Bruce left I'd gladly have moved over to Greatest Hits but I don't drink Fever Tree and I don't have any gold to sell so I don't want to hear about both in an ad break every 10 minutes...
  18. I don't really see why these e-scooters are still so prevalent? As I understand it, they are totally illegal to ride on anything but private land. So, there shouldn't be any on public roads or pavements. Simple, right? So how is it that I see them everywhere, often being ridden by 'yoof' and sometimes down the middle of a main road? Surely the police should just be stopping anyone riding one and confiscating it there and then? It seems they just don't, which presumably makes the yoof think they are above the law and have some kind of unspoken right to carry on as they please. Or to the next shoplifting opportunity...
  19. I'd have to agree. The Esprit (in all it's guises) is still for me a bit of automotive art. A close second would probably be a Ferrari Daytona Spyder. A bit more curvy than the Esprit so something completely different!
  20. Each to their own but I tend to think that VW campers are a bit like Minis and Fiat 500s. People get them so they can say 'Hey, look at me, I'm being different with my quirky/trendy car choice'. Then they look around the works car park and think, oh, hang on a minute....
  21. Looks like one of the twin wheeled Tyrrells on the back. I recently collected a car from The Tyrrell Buildings in Surrey where Ken Tyrrell's original workshop/shed still sits. Shortly to be relocated to Goodwood Motor Circuit I believe.
  22. The Sunday ticket is now sold but I still have the Saturday ticket available for just £28. Bargain. Anyone fancy it?
