  1. Copyrights and trademarks is a tricky business. I don't know much about it but when I worked for B&Q, who have an orange square as part of their logo, they had a legal agreement with Orange the phone company never to sell telephones. Presumably it worked both ways and Orange weren't allowed to sell 4x2 but I never asked...
  2. Ooh, I like the white one. Does it go underwater?
  3. Anyone else remember 'Day of the Triffids'? Maybe stay away from tall plants for a while... Thank me later 🏝️
  4. Goodwood Motor Circuit is well worth a visit if you're close by on your travels. Aside from the circuit there's an aerodrome on the infield with a café overlooking the circuit and grass airstrip. It's usually free to drive into the estate and there are often track days on during the week so, depending when you visit you might see something going round the track. You can normally wander around the pits too and look at any of the cars that are there on the day.
  5. Just posting the reg E22CEL here in case anyone searches it now or in the future. Formerly it was on G939XRF.
  6. Any better? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1499102490669229/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A7f37a56e-2887-4104-a137-15c31fae954b
  7. Still there when I follow the link..?
  8. Nice to see the old girl is still going strong after we parted company 20 years ago. Happy to share what I know about it if anyone here is tempted to buy it. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/404500292466880/?ref=saved&referral_code=null
  9. Sadly it seems these days that a lot of 'other people' just want to do as they please without any respect or regard for others, neighbours included. Then, if you politely ask them to be a bit more considerate you get told to F off. We were lucky to have lovely neighbours at our previous place and a real community feel. Where we are now people seem a bit less interested in getting along and more about doing what they want and watching the other residents. Since we moved here 4 years ago I think we've had 4 notes through the door from a certain retired couple, complaining about everything from someone putting rubbish in their bin to 'strangers' in our paddocks that run behind their property. They also seem to be the self appointed local planning police, writing reams of objections to local planning applications, many of which are miles from them, and reporting anything they don't like to the council. All pretty sad... The more I speak to people though the more it seems that everyone has a 'difficult' neighbour and we could be much worse off. Friends of ours moved away to Cornwall to escape traffic and neighbour noise. They now live on a remote small development of 6 houses on the side of a golf course and their new neighbour is mowing, power washing or making some other noise from dawn till dusk every day. They're moving again...
  10. You sure it’s not mint green, the ones with the holes..? 🤔
  11. I'm only down the road in Chichester but my Esprit is a strictly analogue carb N/A.
  12. Hmm.. I've a vague recollection of something like that too. Perhaps for vehicles that aren't intended to be used at night though?
  13. True, I've done that in the past on pressed in ball joints that are otherwise fine. Those covers and clips can be fiddly little beggars though, plus you'll still need to split the joint to get the cover on. On bolted on parts it's arguably less of a fiddle to just change the whole joint, then you know it's definitely good 🤔
  14. Sounds pretty clear. I just wonder how they view the driving of a car that's had any serious defects identified at the MOT and failed as a result? Driving to the MOT I suppose ignorance is bliss and you could feasibly argue that you weren't aware of a problem but driving back less so... In this case (degraded headlamps) I think I'd be quite happy to drive it back in daylight!
  15. I know there’s a road tax exemption to drive a car to a pre booked MOT, which i’ve done several times. I wasn’t so sure about making a return journey though if the test is failed and the car deemed unroadworthy or unsafe. Definitely worth checking that out.
  16. Any competent garage should be able to do those easily. You might prefer to supply your own parts though to make sure they're the right ones. Anywhere like PNM, SJ Sportscars will have them if you can't get them locally. I'm (thankfully) out of touch with garage labour rates but I'd have thought no more than a couple of hours work max? It'll probably need the wheel alignment checked too either as part of the job or afterwards.
  17. Probably best to just replace the headlamp units if they have degraded internally. From memory the original lamps are quite difficult to get now but PNM do a very good kit which includes all new lamps, SS backplates etc as those have a habit of rusting out too. For mine it was more cost effective to just swap out the lot for one of the PNM kits. They do an LED kit too if that's your thing. It's a very DIYable job if you're even a bit handy. If you can't drive it and you want to do the work yourself, just get a local transport company to move it back home for you. Plenty about and I could recommend a lovely chap based in Waterlooville if you're stuck... What the transport costs (probably £75) you'll easily save in labour if you fix it yourself.
  18. It's amazing the havoc someone thinks they can wreak on your life if they know you, your business and have the time and motivation to stir up trouble for you. Hopefully the local council have better things to do than add to your problems. Especially if it's adding to or risks inducing any undue stress and 'mental health' issues for you, then they should be backing off and seeing any malicious reports for what they are.
  19. I always keep a map book in the car, just in case. I use Waze on my iPhone for nav, which is great but the problem with Satnav is it's not always easy to see exactly where you actually are in the world or which way to go if the nav insists on sending you down some unsuitable road/track/footpath. Always good to have an analogue backup. Or maybe I'm just clinging onto the 1980s...
