  1. Get somebody to do the revving while you look in the engine bay. You will find the source of the chirping easier to locate. Rambo will probably be right.
  2. Over the Christmas period this happened down the road from my house. My first thought was that the some of the anti EV guys on here had formed a vigilante group to cause mayhem, but when I checked it out online it's a national phenomenon. The leads are being cut off for the copper that is contained within them. @Spinney It must send your OCD into overdrive like mine, incompetent criminals, they must have left about 20% lead still connected. @C8RKH Your line of work - Think they need to build an alarm into the leads, with cameras... and exploding weapons.
  3. Would a pair of wire cutters to the beeper stop it from beeping? 😉
  4. Also, off the cuff discussions with prospective customers may not reflect the actual stance of the business.
  5. Tight fit in the garage, looks like they have had to cut a section in to the wall to squeeze it in. You'll be holding your breath every time you close the garage doors.
  6. Good sleuthing. I've not had any problems during my ownership but if it does happen I'll know where to start looking.
  7. A front tyre blow out will give you understeer. A rear tyre blow out will give you oversteer and will probably be more dangerous.
  8. Sidewalls do flex on every rotation and going round corners will put it under greater stress, along with acceleration and breaking stresses. There will be heat build up and that is now a weak point so will probably have greater heat build up. It doesn't appear to have gone through to the carcass but it's not possible to see under the surface if it has caused damage. Would you risk a blow out? Is it a front or rear tyre?
  9. Before I settled on my Evora, I was in a similar quandary to you. I had initially considered an Elan (M100) but then moved to wanting one of the newer models and was vacillating between an Elise or Evora. I did have a test drive in an Elise 1.6 and decided that just didn't suit my driving style. Later, for various reasons, I settled on an acquiring an Evora. Getting the Evora took a long time so be prepared for a long slog to get the right car for you. After I had got the Evora, I had the fortune to drive an Elise Sport 220 for a day, I also drove one at the Lotus Driving Academy. If I had been in the market for an Elise, that would have been brilliant for me. Having driving experiences is very helpful to decide which model and variant is right for you. When I had decided on an Evora the important things for me were the sports pack and the tech pack, I also wanted the electric folding mirrors (I've hardly used them since I've had the car). The premium pack wasn't important to me but was only a desirable option. No matter which of the three packs an Evora has they are all lovely. The Elise, Exige and Evora are no longer in production, so there is a finite market of these products. Depreciation on good models is glacial and may be appreciating on some models. Good luck with your search.
  10. You have had Sevens previously so are used to more compact cars for fun, so the Elise and Exige might be OK for you. The Evora has more space for luggage and is easier to get in and out of so will also give you the option of comfortable road trips. The obvious thing is to try them out on test drives and see which suits you best. If you know someone who has a Lotus , approach them and see if you can tag along, maybe as a passenger. I think SELOC have meetings in your area, do any forum members know about these?
  11. I think it's irony. He's taking the mick out of those influencers who are gushy, smiley, gushy, smiley about a product.
  12. In the UK it is a legal requirement that front windscreens have to let at least 75% of the light through. On a sunny day I will put my sun glasses on and if I am driving through into the night I start to realise how hard it is to see things so I just whip off the sun glasses. I wouldn't be able to cope with a tinted front windscreen.
  13. I've got the Lotus sports exhaust on my 2010 NA. It doesn't have the link to the airbox so the port is permanently open. If I want to get the full experience of the sound from the exhaust I just wind down the windows. Lovely and costs nothing. 😘
  14. Hi PJB In 2020 I started getting a warning light mostly after I had washed the car. There was no noticeable change in engine performance. I have a cheap £10 OBDII code reader which gave me the code P0160. O2 sensor bank 2 sensor 2. When the car was fully dried out I could delete the code and it wouldn't return until the car was washed again. There are 2 sensors post cat and I was advised that they don't last for ever so I bought 2 from ebay for £90 and planned to change them. On checking them out, I discovered that one of the sensors had a lead that had become damaged from it's proximity to the exhaust. I slightly re-routed the lead. This was most likely the problem and something that was manageable (only occurring when the car was washed with no effect on performance) so I waited until it's next service at the dealer and got them to replace both the O2 sensors for me. There has been no problem since.
  15. That's excluding VAT. £84k with VAT. Might be a bargain for the right buyer at some point in the future.
  16. Sadly, manufacturers that add gizmos and gadgets are "adding value", so they can charge us more and make bigger profits. The more complex it is the more likely it will be to break and a more expensive fix that has to be done at a dealer. Built in obsolescence will mean more new cars will be sold. The manufacturers will be happy to see it happen sooner than later. Legislators will be happy to take control away from the driver so that no rules of the road are broken. Don't be surprised when it happens.
  17. you'll be ok as long as you don't go to the same auctions as @Kimbers and steal his stonking profits 😜
  18. Rover SD1? Can the electric doors be switched off so you can operate them manually?
  19. I was just walking into W H Smith and heard this great sound, vaguely familiar, behind me. I stopped and turned around and there you were driving down Marygate. 7/11/23 at 13:50 ish
  20. That sounds like a manual high beam that automatically dips when it needs to? p.s. I'm all in favour of manual, automatic is just something expensive that can go wrong.
  21. The pedal offset is only slight and I didn't notice until somebody pointed it out to me. A few years ago I had a drive in a Lamborghini Gallardo and those pedals were definitely offset. One thing I would mention to a new Evora driver is don't try to rush gear changes.
  22. I think you have to ask why we don't have Aluminium batteries in our mobile phones. If it works, it would surely have already been done. We've been able to get hold of aluminium for a long time.
  23. Sorry, this is the Emira thread. My mistake.
